How can an unlimited coin be placed on near sellouts? I had to order just to get the booklet that is supposed to go with each order & I do like the design but scares me thinking this is how sports cards went. CP got my money!

If anyone is still interested in the Gold Superman coin, it is now at $800 at Gatewest.

It started at $750, this morning, went up to $825, now it is back down to $800.

And take note, provinces without HST will only be charged GST of 5%. NO PST except for Manitoba. So the final price after PST of 5% in BC is $840, the same price as if you ordered directly from the Mint or the Post Office.

If you order at Talsiman you have a good chance at getting ding with taxes plus you may have to wait a long time for your order or not receive it at all. There are plenty of horror stories about Talisman at RFD.

Plus shipping is $30. $750 + 30= $780 x 1.05 US exchange rate = $819. Add on possible duty. You could be paying way more than buying in Canada.

Hmmm I really don't think they will honour my order now....I got it for 720. I was just hoping to beat the tax man. Now I might not get the coin at all. Especially since they sold them for so much more.

I've bought from them in the past with no issue, So I hope they will continue with the good streak.

I have never dealt with Talisman, so I cannot give you guys any feedback about them.

However chubbycheeks, I really hope you get your coin.

Boy, this thread has taken a 180 from the start when it was "meh, gimmicky, not interested" to "hmmm, interesting" to "where can I get one?" and the current "I got one! I got one!" Congrats to everybody, but most especially RCM, because it appears they have a hit on their hands.

P.S. Received the Canada Post catalog today. It has Superman on the cover, the stamp & coin set on the inside front cover, 4 pages of Superman stamps inside, and a single page of 6 Superman coins.

People were hesitant to order before seeing the actual pics and I think some others just jumped on the bandwagon after the hype started. I'm pretty excited about these myself :) I can't wait to see them in person . Did anyone order all the coins?

chubbycheeks, did they charge you extra for insurance? Hopefully they honour the sale and write .999 gold on the declaration form. Keep us posted.

Why do you guys think the gold coin is selling so well? I'm a bit surprised actually

The price of the gold Superman coin has skyrocketed.

This one sold on Thursday for $1000.

$1000+$25shipping=CAD1060, and no tax. 1060-25shipping-850cost-85fees=100profit.

I don't think a little more than 10% net profit is a good investment for a flipper (not a dealer, dealer has extra discount from Mint), and, nobody can guarantee you always sell at US$1000.

10% net profit and no safety margin? NO WAY !

@sw3dish ch3f - I ordered all the coins on the first day the pics were released then I forget if it was later that day or the next the gold went out of stock.

@yunbo - Well you can always find other ways to sell it then ebay. I have seen people sell coins on Kijiji. Not sure how succesful they are but I am sure they do sell.

Also the price could keep going up once they are all gone from the dealers and let ebay decide the price. :/
