Shield border colour: Gold coin is red, but original is yellow Very good observation, Panda! I don't think this is an error but rather artistic license. If you picture the coin with an all yellow perimeter (like on the very first comic book cover), it wouldn't look as good as it does in red. Don't forget that the colour change from yellow to red on the shield happened very early on in the life of Superman. Maybe someone can tell us exactly in which comic book issue it occurred. Also I'm glad you have your gold coin so soon! Did you buy it at a mint boutique? Thanks for posting the photos and enjoy!

Quote:So in overall those cases very nice. External design and presentation. But take a look at this box - isn't it "cardboard made"? I may mistake, but if not - I do not want cardboard boxes from RCM. The box for the gold coin, isn't what the "The Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus" box would look like?

I got one today! I'm keeping it unopened in the sealed plastic bag. My heirs will sell it on ebay one day and be able to retire...

I don't think a little more than 10% net profit is a good investment for a flipper (not a dealer, dealer has extra discount from Mint), and, nobody can guarantee you always sell at US$1000.
10% net profit and no safety margin? NO WAY !
10% return is great when you consider the return on "Safe" investments like GICs are less than 2%. I would even take a 5% return.

@yunbo - Like what others have said I meant that the demand for the coin is more then how many were minted.

Folks, the 1/4 oz "Vintage Superman" is still available on the RCM site (4:15pm EDT). Grab one while they last! If you read on the mint's site: "What makes this coin so special", you'll see it has "...five different finishes in play, some harsh and texture, some smooth and glassy...". I think this coin is going to look very cool. It could be the sleeper of the series. Also, why not get a "Lenticular", just for the name! I did!

I picked up my coins at the mint, the superman booklets they were giving away didn't have anything printed on them. There were two sizes of booklets too, one is about 8" the other about 16" in length.

So I have a "clean" booklet from the event. Or this is some other booklet, not the same like I postad on the page 10?
