Hey anyone else get those Superman booklets from the mint in the mail today? I guess they are sending those out.

Do you mean the catalogue or is there a special booklet for the Superman coin release? In either case, I haven't received anything yet :(

Panda, thanks for the pics. I didn't order the gold coin because it was too pricy and hoped prices would drop in the future but it looks like there's no chance of that happening in my lifetime

Saw today a lot of interest of 6 years old kids to lenticular coin (well...it temporary), and since in RCM it already "awaiting stock", drove to CC&C and bought additional one.

@ Silveroid - did you ask the staff there how well the coins were selling?

No, they were too busy with many customers, who came to buy the bullion coins.

They have attractive display with some Superman cards and old Superman comics (asked - not for sale, display only) and 5 coins (no gold and no Man of Steel)

The 3 dealers I've visited here in Alberta all said that the superman coins are going like hotcakes.

These Superman coin's are ugly. ebay is already saturated with them. I don't know which Superman coin is actually the gem in this pile. This all leads me to believe that these coins are not going to appreciate very much. There is way too many people hoarding and selling them and it seems like the dealers are waiting for other dealers to start selling them before they release their hordes. Is there actually anyone that actually wants these coins for their artwork and fetish interest in a man in tights? Or is this just for resale?

I haven't bought any of the Superman coins, but if I was going to make a purchase it would be the enameled Shield coin. I don't tend to buy "painted" coins, but I am intrigued by enameled coins - I do like their history. They date back to at least the Victorian age, when coins were frequently enameled to create attractive pieces of jewelry.

The RCM did a nice job with the enameling of three silver dollars a few years back - I'm guessing they did a nice job with this one as well.
