I was 100% they were fake when I saw them. The size of the gold was a dead give away. ebay is a joke when it comes to these things. I called in today because I'm 95% sure I bought a fake panda from this seller. I couldn't prove it without having the coin in hand yet. But I could point out flaws in some more recent coins the seller has posted in the last few days. She basically just shrug it off and said the buyers have to file the claim. I was very surprised, I would have in the least expected some form of faked interest in the matter. I would've been satisfied with a "we'll look into it"

Similar thing happened to me, http://www.ebay.ca/usr/qinxiao13?_t....m1439.l2754 this seller, I messed him asking if real, he/she said it was and I paid, 2 days later seller is not registered anymore and item is already sent, ebay told me to wait to get item then file dispute but I am 100% sure now its fake since seller is banned. I just hope I get my $35 back as I bought 2

I hate to keep making this point the only party and the owner of the copyrights and harmed party is the RCM, only the RCM can ask for the RCMP and CBSA to act on this issue. If the RCMP or CBSA ask ebay to act on this issue, what do you think ebay will respond? Unless the RCM looses sales they just don't care, or enough RCM master club members complain, all other popular products manufacters are proactive with counterfeiting or the market place would be over run with fakes. Keep contacting the RCM.

The moose is absolutely correct ..the whole set is faked for sure ...the vintage silver coin is really bad with exactly one finish! but the Shield is pretty good and could fool a lot of buyers.....the paint jobs on the rest are a joke for sure but I will bet the farm that a lot of buyers will get stung on this counterfeit scheme from good ol China before too long

I personally buy my coins only from reputable places within Canada and the US. I feel that buying any coins or collectibles from elsewhere and especially from China is way too risky, considering that a good portion of the collectible market there relies on selling fakes and labeling them as authentic.

buying coins through ebay is fine but you have to have a practical understanding of how ebay works. Chinese fakes will continue to plague us for a long time due to the ease of listing them on ebay. ebay is so big now that they have no way of stopping it...try complaining about something on ebay and see how far you get! The RCM already knows that their coins are being faked as we speak..along with all the large brands in the world....But this has one advantage to sellers of the real coins in that the prices will increase for real Superman coins....but there will be a lot more fakes showing up on ebay from now on......you can count on it

If the RCM knows, why do they not move on this issue., Do you see openly fake Nikes, ROLEX, ect. on ebay, yet you have clearly listings with clad or copy RCM items. Other companies proactively protect their patents and copyrights, monitors ebay and probably threatens them with legal actions to prevent counterfeit listings. How can having counterfeit superman coins increase the real coins value, it surely will do the opposite.

Well, the Superman fakes are poorly done (esp. the color), but for the average Joe, the price is attractive. This set comes with a case: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Set-of-6-Sup...em43c9af5296And then we have multiple sets of 6 coins with a starting bid of $1.99! Although the sellers admit that they are silver & gold plated... http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SUPERMAN-MAN...em20e5988371The scary thing is, like it or not, these types of replicas/plated coins are setting a new trend... I can hear the average Joe saying something like, "Why get the real thing? This is good enough for 'Johnny's birthday' or 'my collection' and cheap too!" Good grief...

Is anyone reporting these auctions? I'm amazed these coins haven't appeared sooner. As nicklesguy had offers for these coins a month after their release.

We should do our duty and report to ebay and RCM these active listings..I have already done so...... and if all of us report then at least we know that we have done something..... so if the problem persists we will have a better perspective on the issue. Its actually easy to report via ebay counterfeiting item report and RCM has both live support and email..so far I've used emails but I will phone RCM tommorrow and talk to a rep about it. Whether or not it can be stopped is doubtful because if there is a market for fake Superman coins then there will be someone to fake them...but at least we can do something if we care about it....

as far as increasing value in genuine Superman coins goes..I would qualify my statement by saying that the Certified coins will probably achieve the highest value and this is already proven in the marketplace.....Especially the value of gold Superman coins of which apparantly there are only five so far in NGC should be affected by the release of fake gold Superman coins. There is one for sale now on ebay in PF 70 for 3000 oBO the release of faked sets will make a good case for getting the Superman coins slabbed. of course we all know that faked coins have been a problem for decades if not centuries..I sold a 1772 counterfeit British penny a couple of years ago for a few hundred dollars to a collector club in the USA...i didnt even know it was a fake until the bidding skyrocketed....

Why do you think all major companies, Apple, Sony, spend so much on fakes, the market would be overrun with 25.00 knock off products and it will destroy the value of the real item. Would you pay 700.00 for an iphone, if there was a fake sold openly on ebay? At the end only the RCM can resolve this issue simiply by asking for enforcement actions. When these superman fakes are in mass at the flea markets, the real coins will be bullion value.
