thanks pocketchange..i see that the only fake superman coins now on ebay are properly described as replica coins which is fine by me...although ebay says that replica coins are no longer allowed so thats a confusing policy or enforcement practice.....I dont think there is a need for a group of people to enforce the law on this issue just as long as someone does something in their respective area.....even if they notify the forum members of a suspicious listing it should be enough to get some action going...we cant all be enforcers all the time ..thats no fun but right now I feel like taking down a few ignorant sellers and so far I've got 1 scalp! but I'm focused only on Superman coins and I know that the fakes are being sold in most coin areas

I find it quite remarkable that the clearly marked replica Superman set would sell for over 120.00 on ebay by a number of bidders..This shows the popularity of the Superman Brand and the reason why the Superman RCM release is so successful. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271503482903....m1438.l2649

The price of the Superman coins except for the gold one have dropped like a rock in the last while. Have anyone looked closely at what is going on? The fake coins are selling very well. A fake Man of Steel coin sold for $82: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SUPERMAN-MAN...i=RTM1860769Quote: ....I think that if you examine the art world you will find that the real product usually retains and increases its value. Prior to the modern phenomenon of brand fakery most counterfeiting efforts were directed towards original paintings ,coins and other luxury items. This did not undermine the value of the original product. Even in numbered original prints the signed items have kept their value so I dont think you can definitely say that Superman coins will lose value because of a bunch of plated iron coins at flea markets. You can say that many people will lose a lot of money buying fakes but I dont see original pieces losing value. It will make buyers more wary of course but as to the real value vs the fake value that is a very debatable question Instead of helping the real Superman coins do well the fake coins are dragging down the price of the real coins. Comparing Artworks to Coins is like comparing apples and oranges. Rare paintings are one of a kind, not mass produced like 10,000 coins. Even numbered prints are limitied to dozens or hundreds, not thousands. Collect coins for enjoyment, not investment.

If fakes increase the real brands products, all major brand companies would not spend major expense and time on this issue. The people who buy the 80.00 fakes are mislead into believing these are real units, why would you pay 80.00 for a 3 .00 slug, but the main point is if the RCM ask ebay, it would not be on their website period.

@moneypenny says ....Collect coins for enjoyment, not investment. the irony of numismatics is that you have to enjoy coins a lot in order to profit from investing in them......this is unlike a lot of other areas of investing I note that there are very few Superman Gold coins for sale these days..only 5 solo coins for sale on ebay including one of mine for 2500.00 obo..This indicates ,in my view, that the secondary market is now almost completely sold out and Superman gold prices will only rise from here on. Most of these gold coins will never leave their collections......strong seller resistance at 1700.00USD or 2000CAD ..i earlier predicted 3,000 for superman gold by this summer..2 of the 5 solo coins for sale are at 2500 UDS which is around 2800 CAD and the rest are parts of full sets selling for 3000 CAD up to 5000CAD plus.....

The bad side of this scenario, that coin became "un-movable". Like you said, most of them found their place in the collection, and almost no remains in the market. People rather prefer to move to other items, than to pay extra over extra just to get it. RCM continuously issues new coins, and among them will be new hits. Who wants to pay $500 for 2007 Snowflake, $250 for Poppy Dollar or $200 for 2009 Summer Moon Mask and other "hits"? The demand is already low and they forgotten. No NCLT is exeption. Yes, you still own the coin, that in theory priced as $2500 Added: thanks to other forum for info: Will people buy small RCM coin for $750, if there is a bulk of "the same" for sale: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SUPERMAN-Fin...662534592874
