i just talked to the vancouver RCM boutique and the rep said that there will be a NEW SUPERMAN RELEASE this sept ..The design will be different but the mintage and price and specs will be the same..He was surprised that I knew about it so they are keeping it a closely guarded secret..the seller I posted on is selling presale coins for a 200 profit but how he can guarantee delivery I do not know unless he works at the mint or something....how you can presale a rumor is beyond me...anyways I guess we are in for another round of Supermania so I maybe the RCM might be notifying us sometime soon but until then mums the word |

I called in and first the rep put me on hold and then he confirmed and said that the people who know is through reps contacting the members directly and he also gave me his name and said he will have one reserved for me and I can call in next thursday to place my order. Also a CanadaPost dealer I know told me months back that the mint had informed them about the superman coins. Although it seems like the only reason RCM is doing this is since these coins were a success last year for the 75th aniversary, but I am pretty sure the gold one will sell out and sell for a premium versus majority of other RCM products this year that can be purchased at some sort of discount. |

I visited the Vancouver Mint Boutique today and spoke to the Manager and she confirmed that there will be Superman coins coming out in September. So it is not rumour but fact.
At least people with MC status will get something out their membership. I doubt the general public will get a crack at the gold Superman coins as everyone (coin dealers, collectors, and flippers) will try to get as many as possible. I would not be surprised if there is a limit of one Gold Superman Coin per customer.
I expect an email from my rep next week with ordering info and I suggest people don't hesitate to order because even reps have limited allotment of coins. He who hesitates may find himself without a coin.

It's hard for me to get excited about this release, if this release is popular will there also be a celebration of the 77th anniversary the following year as well? They must be desperate because sales have slumped and they need cash fast or heads will start to roll.
I do hope the designs are nice but after the 7 last time what hasn't been done?

Unfortunately from what I heard is that its gonna be the same $750 for 14kt, I was hoping for some change an the release of a 1/4oz coloured gold superman coin, as this will be $750 plus tax

I heard that the gold superman will be base on this cover.  That will be a pretty interesting coin, but not sure it will sell with a big premium since it's not a new theme. |

People thought the first Gold Superman would not do well and boy, were they wrong. Lots of people regretted not buying it. They are not going to make the same mistake this time. This coin will be a quick sell out this time. The second coin will not do as well as the first coin on the secondary market but it should do better than recent RCM releases. |
