I just checked the site and it had the grades listed. Perhaps, that's what happens when your in a hurry... you don't pick the right coins to send. I had much better condition dimes but I wanted one that would get FSB. (Click for large zoom) Got them back in hands.

Of the five I sent in, 4 came back with DETAILS grades. It wasn't like I was surprised, though. I pretty much expected it on 3 of them. I really just wanted my 1921 Peace to be officially slabbed, and I was hoping for PL on the 79-S Morgan. Again, that quarter. . . . So, how do you like ANACS?

@Dark, Ouch that's painful to see 4 out of 5 detailed. Was the Peace dollar high graded or just basic? I say ANACS was pretty good. They're a lot cheaper than PCGS and NGC. But just the sell values aren't great. I got a few coins I want to see if ANACS will upgrade them. They are in blue label ANACS holders.

My grades were finally posted today... The 1882 $5 got a lowly MS-61 I'm kinda disappointed... I was expecting a 63 on this one... I've looked at many slabbed examples of this coin (both online and in my LCS) and mine looks far better than any 61/62 I've seen.. O well, it was free... Maybe I'll crack it and resubmit there eventually or somewhere else... 1853/4 A&R quarter EF-45 (FS-1301) sweet.. That's exactly what I had this one at and just prayed it would come back not cleaned... I didn't think it was, but when I posted pics on here due to my horrible photography a few said details. Even though I only paid $250ish for it... Gotta love horrible ebay pics keeping the bids down (as long as there's a return policy) And the 1843 $1 came back "40 Cleaned"... I didn't know they have a numerical grade to cleaned coins.. I thought it was strictly EF details or whatnot. Also... The cleaned designation on this one threw me for a loop... The coin does not appear cleaned in the least, I mean like most early coins it was probably dipped or something at some point long ago but a "non market acceptable" coin? I think not... There's no evidence of hairlines or anything not even a recent dip... Confused I am... Definitely being resubmitted sometime.... So for my experience it wasn't bad... The quarter made it worth it.. I'm not so upset about the $5 grade as I am about the cleaned $1... I've examined that coin a thousand times, showed it here, as well as bough it from a dealer, and not one person said it was a details coin... O well, I'll try again and see whats said.. Also I called the other day to ask about the return shipping and was told if you have a actual street delivery they use fed-ex but if you have a P.O. Box they automatically use the USPS...

Sorry to hear about the grade. Well mainly the cleaned 1 dollar gold coin would be the big thing.
They graded my gold coin AU-50 and people said it was like AU-53.... But I'm still okay with the grade.
At least your quarter done well. My coins did okay but just the dime wasn't great.

@Jack, they're both fine coin!
The Franklin kind of looks cool with that. It's like he got a gas-mask on. I like Barbers in any grade. But I don't understand how they call that cleaned.

I think no matter which TPG you use, you will get disappointed for some grades, and happily surprised for some...I know I was for my NGC submission. I guess you just have to hope for the best and have the coins you like more not ending up in a details slab.

Nice halfs! That Franklin is definitley pretty neat! The dollar I sent in that came back "cleaned" was a Seated dollar, not a gold dollar... But I still don't think that's correct... I don't think it deserves a details grade in the least.. Not a single person who's seen it has remotely thought that its been cleaned. But again, O well... That's the joy of TPG'ers... Not getting what you expected isn't all that common from all the tales I've heard, and upon a resubmition it could come back different.... Every time.. Lol The grades were exactly what I expected on the Seated dollar and quarter, EF-40 & EF-45... But the cleaned designation was a complete shock! And the gold $5 was a bit lower than I'd hoped, but overall not super disappointing, I may send it in again with the dollar at somepoint though... Roll the dice

@Nathan I guess my eye's tricked me thinking you said Gold one dollar. @ep, I agree on that. TPG's all can be a pain sometimes. I never submitted to PCGS or NGC but I know a guy who uses PCGS a lot and they can jerks sometimes. @Jack, If that was cleaned, it had to be done like 30 years ago right?
