At the last moment I decided to do a bit of digging after a trip to the library to pick up seasons 3 and 4 of Night Court. Hit a local park and my second target of the day had me shaking so bad I had to quit for the day. This now adorns my Hunny Bunny's finger. By the way the first target was a quarter! \ Stone appears to be an emerald but not really up on my gem stones and is surrounded by diamonds....every one there. 14K Lollapalooza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Found with me old fathful Freedom 3 Plus!

Looks like peridot to me. It could also be beryl. Hard to say because a lot of gems come in more than one color. It's an interesting setting. Usually the oval stone sit so that the narrow ends point toward the wrist and fingertips.

I was thinking peridot, as well. My mother has a few raw ones from my great grandfather that he picked up in Arizona when he was a missionary to the Apaches.

I think it's peridot. Not a deep green inherent to an emerald. Nice find though.

Looks yellow green to me. That means either peridot, (yellow green) or citrine, (yellow). There is not much brightness in the surrounding stones. My guess is that they are rhinestones (faceted quartz). That would be in keeping with the value of the semi precious main stone.
Take a close look at the facet join lines. If the lines have been dulled, the surrounding stones cannot be diamond. Not much of an indication, because if the ring has been rarely worn, the intersecting facet join lines would be sharp, anyway. Probably set in 9ct or 14ct gold. It is a fairly new or rarely worn ring, because the gold has retained a high polish.
High level of commercial skill in the manufacture of the ring. I notice a stamp on the inside of the ring.

Incredible find!
I went out last week with my Whites DFX and all I found was 11 cents and a patch of poison ivy.
