If it gets a few more people interested in collecting coins then great. Nothing forces people to go out and buy it.

I don't get why most seem to be dismissing this coin already. Yeah it's not as nice as the insects, and it's Christmas related and will see a downturn in demand come January. But it couldn't be worse than what the Butterfly has experienced 3-4 months later after the initial hype died down. And yet we all know what will happen if another glass bug is released. I have a feeling this isn't a one shot Christmas coin, unless it completely flops. If this is made into a Holiday series then this one should be fine, plus there will still be many who have the glass bugs who will want this one too due to the Murano glass theme.

The only holiday coin I collect is the lentical coin. I personally would prefer this over that.

I ordered three despite the dissing of the coin.
Actually I like the design. I think it is great. Nice blending of holiday colors.
Anyone else beside me like it?

Does the CandyCane coin signal the end of the glass "bug" series meaning the Butterfly glass coin is the last in the series of 3 coins and the start of a new glass "Christmas" coin series produced every year or will the mint switch to other glass thingys stuck on coins?

MoneyPenney, can hardly wait to get this coin in hand! The holiday colors reflecting off the silver and the glass effect, I imagine will be breathtaking! Hope it isn't a long wait!

@JW, I was told by my rep that there would be two more insects planned, but who knows? I mean how many more are there that a) can be done with hand blown glass, and b) will be attractive on a coin? But I see this holiday series as a nice complement, it would mean one Murano glass coin every 6 months, assuming that poor guy can keep up with doing 20k coins a year!

what about a heart for valentine's, a egg for Easter, a pumpkin for Halloween, etc. this could go on for ever, and really I think a glass candy cane would be pretty simple to manufacture, considering the extra effort needed for the bugs.

I showed my wife after I ordered it, and she loves it. That doesn't happen very frequently. So I'm happy with my purchase.

I was also afraid she wouldn't be very interested in the coin. Ordered it first, then showed it to her after. Imagine my relief when she said she liked it :)
