I ordered one. I'll only put it on display at Christmas time (assuming it ships in time for Christmas haha) but I like it the most of all the holiday themed ones so far.

Went to PO to order the candy cane. But none are available for direct ship until October 8th.
At least I hope that's the case, otherwise they are sold out!

Honestly, this one doesn't interest me at all because I feel that the Mint could have done a better job with the design and it is (IMO) too seasonal to sustain any long term value. But if you just want to use it as a decoration over the holidays then it would be a good conversation starter.

I wanted one but decided to get a 2010 Piedfort 1oz Silver Maple Leaf Commemorative to go with the 2013 Piedfort, maybe I will regret not buying one but seems like my glass butterfly hasn't gone up in value much so I am not too worried about not getting this coin at this time.

Surprise. This holiday coin belongs to the Glass insects series.
It is said "This is the fourth coin in a series......". Nothing related to the Flower and Insect theme. Except the Murano Glass. Weird?

When the people will understand realize, that it actually the 4-th coin in the popular "Murano Glass" series, it will be sold out quickly. So it depends on ability of Mint and the dealers to spread this message to the customers.

I though MCs got this info a week in advance. They don't realize that?
Glass butterfly was sold out before public release. But this one is not.

Hmmmmmmm....this is taken from the mints website about the coin. Quote: This exceptionally beautiful coin is the first coin in a series featuring an engraved and painted festive design with a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted Venetian holiday element created by Cortella & Ballarin s.n.c, a master glassmaker in Murano, Italy. Quote: This is the fourth coin in a series of our world-renowned coins featuring one-of-a-kind Venetian glass embellishments on beautifully engraved and painted festive design. http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/1-oz.....Ukq54RdJNcwSo which is it? First or forth....

I'm guessing it is both. It is the first of more to come festive coins. It is also the 4th in a series of coins using Venetian glass.

It's like the swarovski elements, do you have all the coins with those elements? Do you consider that all the coins who have swarovski elements is a series? For me the theme should define the series, not the elements on the coins...

IMO, several factors caused to this coin to be still available (but wait, in theory could everything happen): Although it with Murano Glass element, it the Holiday themed, that counts as "seasoned" coin and not hot for long. No connection to the "Flower and Insect" Resources that people spent on Superman and previous releases. I think, people expected next Murano Glass coin in the next year, which is possible, since looks like RCM started to apply elements to different themes (Glass, Crystals, Enamel) Still, everything is possible, but what happened to the Glass Buttefly (that could be found for small premium), may stop from people to hype the Glass coins.

Quote: though MCs got this info a week in advance. They don't realize that? The is the first, is the fourth, can it both discussion did happen a week ago. At least some MC recognized the marketing, and yes it's just marketing. The mint did the same thing with the 1/25 oz gold big horn sheep coin. It's all just marketing. IMO, the Candy Cane is likely available because of the design of the coin and I doubt anyone is 'buying' that it belongs in the series with the bugs. Just like they did with the crystal coins, the mint is throwing glass on dissimilar coins and trying to link them (snowflakes, pine cones, wreaths etc). For the beginning, the Crystal Maple / Flowers and Snowflakes could be enough. Seems that they discontinued the Crystall Maple....

Well, I tried all morning to get the Candy Cane & although it's in my cart, I can't proceed to checkout. So I quit. Going to order it from CP on October 8th (direct ship).
