Interesting to see CP shipping to individuals before Gatewest receives their inventory. At one time dealers like Gatewest were the primary outlet for RCM product. Companies like them built the market. Slowly the mint brought in direct customers. Good for them I guess, they wouldn't be doing it if it didn't improve margins. Now RCM can't handle the load and are shifting to CP. What does this mean to me? Not alot, I just want fast shipping and first crack at the new releases, things a MC member should get.

Ordered via the CP website last friday evening and got my shipping confirmation 10 minutes ago!
Much quicker than the Mint website where my order was processing since "Day 1"...

I agree, I just got my CP ship confirmation as well. My RCM coin is still processing, along with 9 other orders including some of my superman coins. I had an order for books with Canadian Coin & Currency, I placed it last Thursday and received it today. The mint is getting to be really frustrating!! I don't want all my coins coming at one time, especially just before Christmas shopping!!

yeah I just cancelled all my coins from the mint. Found some at CP and just didn't care about the rest. I get excited about new coins when they are released and buy them....then I get delay shipping notices and long time processing just make me not want them anymore so I just cancel haha

Quote:Relic I just want fast shipping and first crack at the new releases, things a MC member should get. RCM needs to remember how much Masters Club members spend and treat them accordingly. Which % of the total RCM sales do you think represent the MC members? Including the MC members that buy also from dealers so indirectly are buying anyway RCM coins. 20%, 50%, 80%

My candy cane arrived today as well. I was not blown away...maybe the anticipation and excitement ruined it for me. I was expecting more for some reason. Feels like there is something more they could've done, though I'm not sure what.
I still like the coin but I don't think $150 is the right price point for this coin.

arizano, Tough to say how many MC members there are. The last coin that I watched was the piedfort which I believe sold out at RCM before release to the general public. If somebody knows for sure how many the mint had to sell to MC members at one per it might give an indication as to how many members there are. I really have no idea!

received my coin today, and ya I am disappointed, I would have been happier to pay 89.99 for the same coin minus the tiny candy cane, in my opinion, the candy cane does not even look to scale as the other stuff in the background, it really gets drowned out in the colour..

My mint rep said he has 500 customers under him. So it would depend how many reps there are. I think there must be at least 10 to 15 of them. So I would think there are 5000+ MC members. But not all MC members have reps so the number of MC members could be much higher than 5000. Then you have to factor factor in some people have more than one MC account.

Why don't you ask your rep how many of them there are instead of just speculating?
Then your calculations on the number of MC members would have more credibility.

I don't care if a MC member has 1 or 20 accounts, because anyway is HE who is buying the coins that RCM produce. What I'm trying to figure out is how important are or aren't the MC for RCM in $$$$$$$$$ Which % of the total RCM sales go to MC members? It could be directly through a representative or through all the dealers, multiples accounts, etc, doesn't matter. For example, which are the principal Gatewest customers in Canadian Commemorative coins? I doubt MC members.
