Searching something else and came across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/100-ELONGATED-C...KE_W0QQitemZ220120010935QQihZ012QQcategoryZ3453QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

I wonder are they all elongated at the worlds fair or just various places?

Also found large pictures of elongated coins from 1893 fair:

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but I think it goes with e-bay selling elongated cents.

Most of those elongates were made at a Six Flags amusement park somewhere. The others are just random elongates. The worlds fair part is a "restrike" of the first elongate used at the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair(aka Columbian Exposition). I doubt if it is a real restrike though using the original die- more than likely they made a new die to make the "restrikes".

Biokemist6:
Did you read in the St.Louis Post Dispatch about the cache of 1893 coins?

Wow that is lame...nothing but hype and ridiculous prices($99 for an MS 1963 Franklin)
Those Columbian halves are easy and inexpensive to find with a little circulation and the survival rate is actually quite high. What is getting hard to find are the higher grade ones (MS63+) that are blast white. That is definitely not what is depicted in the ad though.

If you are interested in purchasing one, I could probably get one for you from my bid board for $10-15- I see them at least every other week.
