Back Again (Take Two!) Starting A 6d Collection...

dibby33 Valued Member Australia 465 Posts	Posted 10/08/2013 7:16 pm Hello again, I have been out metal detecting for the last year! Finding a lot of stuff, some in decent condition, most not. Found enough spendable to have covered the cost of the machine ($600). Not hunting for the new coins - trying to find the older stuff. I found a 1834 6d last week which made me go to the local coin shop to ask about cleaning / value. Ended up coming to the decision to start a 6d collection (Australian and then UK). I already have some somewhere in a folder and 'accidently' bought 5 before leaving the shop. Add those ones up to the ones that I have found and I reckon I am off to a half decent start. Good to be back. As I said in my last post back in 2012 I still see the usual names kicking around. ...might even go to the bank at lunchtime for some noodlefodder! btw : Does anybody have a list of 6ds with metadata? dibby33 Valued Member Australia 465 Posts	Posted 10/15/2013 5:33 pm For old coins : Places that have had a lot of foot traffic in the 'olden' days. i.e. old showgrounds / parks. Also - has the soil been moved / topped up. Under old trees - on the side with the view :-) For new coins : Beaches Playgrounds Under washinglines Parks Basically anywhere I can get access to!
