I called around and called around and finally found a bank that had them. I didn't find any cool serial numbers but I just wanted to find one. Here it is.

Ah - where are you located? From ebay locations, it seems like people in Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania have it. None here in Dallas... even though I'm around 5 blocks away from the FRB.

Nice. What bank, if you don't find telling.
I've been to 8 different; but haven't got them yet, but all have received several calls requesting them.

It was from a Fidelity Bank in Cary NC. I tried calling the bigger banks but they didn't have any. I was surprised one of the smaller ones did.

So much for a low serial number. Then again they have been holding on to these for years!

Interesting. I kind of like the feather pen and inkwell.
Our founders didn't have the luxury of Bic or Paper*mate :)
I don't think they would have used them anyway.

It was printed back in 2009.
I have heard about them in like 2008.

I was surprised it had a 2009 date. That was unexpected. However when I went on a BEP tour in 2008 before they released photographs of the design, the $100 machines were blocked off from view so no one could see what was going on or catch a glimpse of the design.

I just noticed that both signatures; Secretary of the Treasury and Treasurer of the U.S.) are on one side (left)

That's most likely because it's way to "busy" on the right side.

Thanks for the tip mmerc. Only other time I went to this bank, I was told I had to be a customer. That was a different branch.
After getting 5 the first time, I called a friend, and he wanted 5 as well. I didn't want to be a hog, so I left with 10. Ended up with 4 consecutive, 5 consecutive and 1 odd ball. The teller never ask if I was a customer, and was quite friendly.
They are the Series 2009A, Richmond district.

I got mine near Minneapolis just this afternoon. The holographic strip feels like polymer, and his shoulder is all ribbed. I can see how that strip could cause problems.. its like the bill is scrunched up because of it.
Im not sure I like them. yet.
