That is a very nice 1917 cent no matter what grade it got. It's a 64 grade that is worth multiple times the 64 grade price. Eye appeal is value.

I have always been a true believer "that the grade of the coin is directly affected by who the submitter happens to be". If Joe Blow collector from Podunk Utah sends in 25 various coins for grading he will not score the same grades as would a large volume auction company with the same 25 coins.

Supposedly, the graders have no clue whose submission they are grading. I have never believed that in spite of what the grading companies say.

I also believe that the final grade of a coin is also determined by what day of the week it gets graded. "Friday" coins are graded with less scrutiny than "Monday" graded coins. I know it sounds stupid but that's just the way I think people operate.

Well the verdict is in.

PCGS did not want one of the finest toned and well preserved coins of this date in their holder.

Got the copper dreaded code .91

Oh well their loss. Rant over

I almost became physically SICK when I read this.

Beautiful Coin.

Regardless that is a beautiful coin. I never had Lincolns appeal to me much until now. Thats some of the most aesthetically pleasing toning I have seen!
