Quote: I just subscribed to the Great Lakes series. It looks very nice. It is with raised land against a translucent enamel filled lake. Not just the land.. "This coin features an interpretation of the bathymetric depths below the lake surface based on data from the Canadian Hydrographic Service." So the depth of the lake is there as well.

Yes, I tend to do the subscription for the series (Lakes).
But for me the "translucent enamel filled lake" and "bathymetric depths" - just the definitions (that sure they are real and I even googled them) that we will not able to see or feel on the coin.
I want to mistake here, but I expect to see same tone blue coloured area with slight raised land around.
@Liverpool: I found about 1/2 oz series - there is mentioned difference in price for "Nothern Lights", so this coin sure will be available as single. But no word about other coins and 1oz series.

I haven't doubt RCM will sell these coins individually.

I only ordered the coloured polar bear.
I have the bullion 1 1/2 oz and I agree with CC-Ottawa that the mintage for the proof version is too high to maintain the $124.95 value.
The Great Lakes series is nice but being from the Maritimes I don't have the connection.
I purchased both of the 2013 O'Canada subscriptions (and I have received both boxes and I am up to date with receiving the coins) but I will pass on the 2014 ones. I don't care for the cardboard box for the 1/2 oz series - may pick up some individual coins if they become available. I don't like the 1 oz O'Canada coins as much as the 2013, based on the themes and the igloo coin pictured.

I was just comparing the RCM bank note coin with George slaying the dragon to the 5 pound sterling coin The Royal Mint sold out of in 5 days. it was part of the royal birth party in the UK. I have to say the Canadian coin looks pretty good. If I had a choice I'd take the UK coin, the design is timeless and the history behind it is pretty cool. All that said, I'm thinking I may have to order the RCM bank note one, it's got style, and The Royal Mint George and the Dragon is out of reach for me now.

Banknote coin is stunning...and love the connection with the 1850-1857 bank of upper Canada penny tokens aswell.
I was torn between caribou and lakes subscription as add ons...but I have this doubt that lakes will appreciate much, and am not overly confident that caribou will be huge either. Don't stand alone coins overall not do as well? I could be wrong. I noticed they put the 1 per household limit on caribou, and a 3 coin limit on polar bear...kind of snows what they are expecting to be not!

I like the 2 colored animal coins they will go well with my color wildlife bullion series. They rest I will wait awhile, as I doubt there's a hurry. I cannot get over the fact they are making a third set from the 2013 half ounce O Canada set. How many ways are they going to market these coins? Did they make a mistake issuing a Mintage of 40,000? Yet they repeat the same mistake, with the next half Oz O Canada set in 2014. I barely believe my eyes, they are giving the new series a cardboard box, just sad! Where's the pride in displaying the collection? A person is better off buying individual coin and getting a clamshell!

I caved (again)! Weird that I could order the Lake Superior coin but Canada only for subscription. Too cheap to ship case but OK to ship the clamshell. The 1st is the one I wanted most (living in Minnesota). I have an ongoing collection of St George & Dragon coins from RM & thought I should get to eventually have a complete set. (the sword or spear looked bent to me). I like the idea of a walnut case for 1 oz silver 2014 Oh Canada subscription. This is my 1st Oh Canada subscription to purchase (looks like new designs) & doesn't look like the 1/2 oz lineup which looks a bunch of retreads with gold gilding. The cardboard box for the 1/2 oz Oh Canada set looks so cheap!

Quote: @allspice, I hope you ordered your ATB(s) last nite, their price has risen due to US economic report. Sorry this is off topic! Thanks for the heads up coinhooked! I didn't get around to ordering yet, but the price appears to be dropping again, so I'll wait it out, but not for long...

After many many months (easily 1 year) I'm not ordering nothing. Interested in Bank note but I'll buy it on January on ebay at 20% below issue price. The two colored animals coins look nice, but nothing extraordinary. I would order the O Canada gold plating set if it was a subscription, but $900 + taxes at once, no thank you. I love soccer, but that coin is so ugly and small. I suppose they will release more when the tournament starts.

Great Lakes are leaking out. Right now there are about 1200 cases left. So I assume there is were 1500 cases in total.
