Rep just said GL subscription "basically sold out". 1500 might just be true.

Reps always say "basically sold-out" to push sales! They are so unreliable about all information they give at large and anyone.

Maybe I don't want a rep then, if info from them is to push sales & increase their commission regardless of fact or fiction? This release (GL sub & ind coins) is very confusing at this point-but I have to rely on written proof & arianzo has only produced this! Cheers to arianzo!

I wonder why they let MC members buy the single GL coins and not the public, just the GL sub is available for the public. So much for the "lite" coin month I was going to have...ended up buying 3 subs of the GL coins. 2 for me and one is a gift, well 2 might end up as gifts once the sets are complete,or I may sell one if the value happens to go up enough by then...well thats a big if lol.

the subscriptions were interesting this time around. the full details had a disclaimer at the bottom that the RCM would only guarantee 1 complete subscription for those who ordered more than 1. "Credit card purchases only. The Royal Canadian Mint reserves the right to limit the total amount of subscribers and guarantees product availability of at least one full series for customers seeking to subscribe to multiple Great Lakes Coin Series. Your credit card will be charged when each coin is shipped. Subscription agreement may be cancelled at the customer's request at any time with a phone call or written notice to RCM." does this mean that if you ordered more than 1 they may not fulfill all of them by the end? a very confusing phrase that I haven't seen before.

Look on the second page of the new releases or here. http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/1-oz.....Unlzpu2EiM8But I received an e-mail today from the mint saying the 5oz swimming beaver, the iconic polar bear and the 1oz platinum bison coins are "available only in stores". That is odd.

Wow, if I had bought the O Canada Series already, I would be really, really, really mad. They essentially re-released it, which makes the previous release de facto bullion.

This is not the first time, that the coin came out with different finishes and with gilding. They didn't produce more, but took the unsold coins and created different version. It even costs more. That's way, I believe, the final mintage for "regular" coins decreased. The issue could be for people, who may want gilded version, but already have regular subscription. Added: what really makes people mad - the simple wooden box with the 7-th coin, that they haven't got yet.

I doubt that. I think this time they minted an additional 1500 and gold plated them. Since they gold plated the coins, they are different than the original ones and should/could be considered a different coin, hence carry a separate mintage. This is different from the 6-coin sub which is merely a repackaging.
