I might be lucky enough to buy one, lol.

If you can get pictures that would be very nice.

@Dave, that's only 600 in Fry's hand.

Sounds like a good deal if they are in the GSA original plastic slabs and are in respectable mint state. Check the GSA plastic slab seam on the 1880, 1881 and 1885 to make sure no tampering has taken place. As GSA slabs have gained a bit of a premium, there are attempts to put coins back into them.

hey fellas sorry for the delay but the deal went through last week and we settled for $900
I received the 4 morgans I talked about alongside 12 90% halves (walker and franklin w/ several BU franklins), and a 2004 1oz. bullion liberty dollar

here's the pics of the morgans as well as the 1882 that I had before - I'm excited!! the coins look MUCH better in person and from comparing to online graded coins I believe these will grade VERY well!
(sorry idk why they're not right side up)

At the price you got those for send em in to NGC or PCGS....from the pictures they all look pretty clean especially the 80.

I am - tentatively - very encouraged, but the images aren't quite up to forming solid opinions regarding grading or variety.

yeah I'm super stoked to get these coins to PCGS - I have to round up a few more before I send them as I'd like to do all 8 in one shot with their top package as I believe its the most cost efficient

Please leave them in the holders and don't crack them out. Pay the extra $10 PCGS charges you to get them in their new goofy cases.

They're also getting rarer, and they do hold additional value. Honestly, I'd send them to NGC, the price difference on the GSA slabs graded is not worth the $10 additional on the common dates. Not sure about the rarer dates but I'm gonna guess there isn't much if any a spread.

really? I thought PCGS was the top grading company out there with NGC being the only other respected one

They are, but NGC has had the market on GSA's cornered for the past decade... many people I've talked to don't like the PCGS holders because you cannot put the coin in the GSA boxes with the holder. So yeah... most don't like it. Limits your market.

I hate to be a downer but there was an article a couple months ago where a counterfeit 1881-CC GSA dollar was discovered at the FUN show. In that article, it said that the black insert that the coin was housed in was made of cardboard instead of plastic like on genuine GSA. From the pictures, the 1882-CC looks okay and the black insert looks correct but black insert on the others sort of have the look of cardboard. The coins kind of have a mirror like finish which was something that I have noticed on some stuck counterfeits. Here is the write up by ICG on that discovery and compare yours to that example: http://www.icgcoin.com/uncategorize...-orlando-fl/
I truly hope that I am completely wrong. I really don't want to see someone being scammed out of their hard earned cash.

I hate to say it but I think douleagele's observation is correct. The insersts don't look right and Liberties profile looks distorted as well. Also on the reverses notice that all the CC mintmarks are the exact same shape, size, and in the same place. I would expect more variability than that. They all look to be made with the same rev die, over a six year span. The 1882 CC looks good but I'm concerned about the others.

That fake CC GSA, the cardboard actually had the lettering printed on that instead of on the case. It's obvious, looking at these, that the lettering is on the casing. So unless somebody is faking GSA's, I doubt these are counterfeit. I think the images just suck due to lighting and trying ot shoot through plastic.

Ehh, ya know what, OP, on the cards with the serial numbers, what color is the ink for the serial number?

The "Uncirculated Silver Dollar" logo also has a rough look (See Figures 8 & 9).

Like D0ubl3Eagle and Conder have said, the 1882 looks genuine.
