The Royal Mint is now selling the coins internationally with a limit of three per household. Still a limit of three per household in the UK as well.

So a UK 20 for 20 is about $33.70 Canadian plus shipping and what ever else.
Just checked the RM they want 12.50 for shipping so that makes it $54.75 Canadian for one coin.

@Silveroid, I got mine through a UK friend whom I've been sending the 20/4/20 Canadian coins since their inception. He is just now returning the favour. (all at List prices! - no mark-ups). I had put in an order a while back for shipping 3 to Canada, that was when they were first announced, however, after about 2 weeks, I got an email indicating it was cancelled - "UK addresses only".
Since then however, I think they have opened it up for international. I have yet to actually hear of anybody on this side of the big pond getting any.

IMO, although high mintages, these coins (UK and Canadians) distributed and priced as numismatic. So here not really correct to compare the cost with the metal content. This way one better will by Britannia or SML.
But in the bottom line, the Canadian coin cost us $20 (plus shipping or $25.99 at PO), and the UK - CAD 33 plus shipping.

Quote:Silveroid Quote: Are these legal tender coins - can they be spent in shops or exchanged in Canadian banks for $20 ? Many posts was written on it. I will try to summarize: Officially - yes, it legal tender as any NCLT. But no one (the businesses) obligated to accept it. Means (as far as I know) they will not accept it. But you can deposit it for $20 to the bank (sometimes the call to RCM required). And You can use it as $20 in the Mint Boutique shop. What about UK 20for20 coins? I read in some forum that the UK 20x20 are not accepted in any place, included any Bank and according to a dealer, the market price will put them below issue price.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_...ited_Kingdom says Quote: Throughout the United Kingdom, coins valued 1 pound, 2 pounds, and 5 pounds Sterling are legal tender in unlimited amounts. however, recently I was told that the Royal Bank of Scotland is refusing to accept £5 coins. Shops don't have to sell to you but if they accept a transaction, they have to accept legal tender. I remember reading about a UK shop in the 70s that paid a hefty fine for refusing to accept legal tender.

The UK Prince George is NCLT. The Mint replied Quote: This coin is legal tender but is not a circulating coin. It has not been designed to work in the banking, retail or vending systems like other circulating coins.
It is an official UK coin, created in very limited quantities and designed to become a collector's item.
There are no plans to introduce a £20 circulating coin now or in the near future
and referred me to http://www.royalmint.com/aboutus/po...r-guidelinesThat isn't my understanding of legal tender but the law may have changed since I was at college. I've ordered 3 but I doubt they'll command a premium. On the other hand, I doubt I'll ever be able to buy them for less than £20 each.

As per experience with Canadian "20for20 - (3years, 10 coins) : Sure, that it will not be traded for less then GBP20.00 (since it's official denomination), as the first coin of this kind (and doesn't meter if it will be the last one) it suppose to command some premium. Could you tell please - is the coin placed inside the capsule (inside the card), or it just sealed into the card?

My 3 arrived today.
They appear more like proofs to me.
They're sealed in a hard plastic capsule that isn't openable without slitting open the information card.
It seems to be about the size of an old shilling but much thicker.

Thanks for info. I bought one from ebay...paid the same like ordering from Royal Mint. For some reason I do not like cards and prefer coin in capsule. So I might take it out and put in some air-tite...
