The bad news is that I am afraid that this thread will sooner rather than later get stuck on the year 1493 (as the original thread was for months and months). Or maybe I'm just being a pessimist--in either case, I'm not planning to post my 1493 here also as that seems unfair.
I hope you will. It is my goal to lock the original thread once this one catches up to it.

Oh, and since this is a new day, we are now accepting 1500 dated (or attributed) coins.

I think you should share that now rather than waiting until 1499 arrives (as we have done in the past and you just did in the third edition thread).

It will not advance the date, but it fits in the range and gives us something to see while we await 1499.

Very nice coin Petrus. Can we call you "Petrus the Handsome" now?

Here is how the coin was identified by the vendor:
NAMEN, LOW COUNTRIES, FILIPS DE SCHONE 1499, PATARD
I would appreciate if someone can give a better description, but here is what I think this means.

Date: 1499 (on reverse about 11 o'clock)
Country: Namen, part of the Low Countries
Denomination: Patard
Monarch when issued: Filips de Schone

Namen (Namur) is a city and province in Belgium. Namur was purchased by Duke Philip the Good of Burgundy in 1421.
When this coin was produced, the ruler was Filips I de Schone (Philip the Handsome), who ruled 1492-1506.

@fuzzy317, yes very nice coin. I think that I can help you with the description a little.

That is a Patard of Philip the Fair from 1499. You can see the date on the rev legend at about 11 o'clock. It looks like "1&99", where the ampersand is a Gothic number 4. The attribution is Levinson II-149.
