Yes, it would be nice to see it posted, but it would not count for advancement as it would have to be proven as 1491 only.

Looks like a nice coin.
But the rules (i.e. Jbuck) have told me that I can post a coin with a date range after a fixed date is posted.

Yes, that is typically how we want it, to avoid confusion on when the dates can advance.

Every time there is a new post here I think that it has finally been found... and every time it turns out that it's not it...

(... and apologies to anyone that thinks the same for this useless post)

Well, yes I did start to get my hopes up a little.

Yep, but not in any rush. The third thread will catch up to this one soon enough and then we can decide what to do next.

The third edition will probably catch this one before the end of the year.

I have older ones, but my next one that can be attributed to a single year is 1489. While we wait, here is a 1492/93 K-Q Hungarian Denar under Kind Wladislaus II. The Q in the mint mark looks like a cents symbol.

I have a few older coins that can be pinned down to 1 year, so I suppose they would be eligible for this thread:

- 214 AD
- 80 AD
- 62 BC
- 151 BC

I suspect I'll be long gone before this thread gets back that far. One interesting possibility for a thread would be to post your oldest coins that can be attributed to a single year (which might straddle two years in the current calendar extrapolated backwards).
