I love these coins, very large and impressive as gold coins go. From a bullion point of view, I would rather these than Eagles.

I would rather pay for a nice St. Gaudens Double Eagle any day.
Nothing beats the artistry.
That is the only reason why I have one.

The 50 pesos is a superb depiction if Victory.
The design of the double eagle tells of America's greatness.
It certainly has a strong patriotic aura about it.

St.Gaudens is nicer if you ask me. I have a 1959 10 Pesos of the same series. Very Nice!

I have both types. The St. Gauden is IMO a superior design. Denco, your 1947 50 p is fantastic. Unless you're out for super coins in which all bets are off, try to stay with 1921 and 1931 50 p's.
