I don't think that's damage, but rather I believe it's the black cardboard edge overlapping the coin making it appear to be rim damage.

that is correct, it is the cardboard, the photo wasnt exactly straight on..
there isn't a chunck missing.
the scratch on the queen's nose is not as noticable
in hand unless at similar angle as photo, seems I ended up
catching it just right !
anyway, the second ebay coin I posted looks to me
like it caught a quick spray from a sandblaster ! looks all pitted.
i just can't imagine them selling for the asking price.
