Should I buy the new 2013 arctic expedition 25-cent 12-pack from the Royal Canadian Mint? I was wondering if the coins will be worth more one day if I keep them in their plastic packaging?

Well, this deal is a no-brainer. Interesting coins for circulation price. They might be worth more over time if left in plastic; but you might get a pack of coins with scratches, nicks, etc. in which case you can spend the bad ones and keep the nice ones (in plastic). Can't go wrong!

I would say - you shouldn't buy them, if you do not like these quarters. Why to keep coins sealed in plastic, if you have actually no interest in them. Investment? Probably you will make sometime $5-$10 on the single pack. Doesn't worth it...better keep the $3.00 in the pocket. But if you like them and see opportunity to have in collection one-time issue RCM item, sealed or individuals (in the collectors pack) - buy them.

Absolutely buy. Mint packs are the best deal going. It's a no brainer.

You can't lose but certainly not an investment.

Not sure about that DBM. It depends how many coins get siphoned out of circulation and/or how easily they are found. Both the Shannon Twoonie and the Secord 25 cent sets have done very well in the secondary markets. Both coins are difficult to find in circulation so both mint packs sell for around double original mint price.

Quote: so both mint packs sell for around double original mint price. That's correct. But if speaking about quarters pack, will you bother yourself for additional $3.00 ?

If you like them, buy them. Put it this way, you are trading a quarter for quarter. Buying at face is always great! Especially mint wrapped coins.
