Quote: How about a "Days of ...." thread showing off your favorite numismatic purchases of 2013? Could become an annual occurrence. This would be interesting for me in a general forum area (or permitted alongside US coins?), as I primarily have dark side purchases this year

I am diggin' the " Days of Seated Liberty Coinage" idea. Half Dimes through Dollars, just about everybody could throw down on that thread.

Due to the inputs so far, I'm now leaning towards a Seated Liberty Coins thread.
Last chance to weigh in...

Moe (or any one else) do you mind if I host a "Days of ...." thread showing off our favorite numismatic purchases of 2013 on the main coin forum? That way members could post their favorite U.S. classics & moderns as well as Ancients, Bullion, Canadian, Australian, & world coins purchased in 2013.
Do you think that 5 or 10 days would be better? I'll have to start the topic soon to get it in before the new year.

My only concern is to have only one current "Days of..." thread on the US Classic Coins Forum at a time so we all can concentrate on one US Classic coin thread. Gathering coins, taking pictures, editing and posting them gets to take a lot of time (and most people won't spend that much time) if the thread gets too involved or there are too many occurring at a time. We see threads with people posting favorites and recent purchases all the time, both on the US Classic coin Forum and the Main Forum and that works out just fine.

Days of Seated coinage will be just phenomenal. Ohih8 is spot on, there's tons of coins that people will represent. It would be a very concise thread as well being Seated coinage only ran a period of time and there are so many great type changes within the series of those different coins as well as some major economic historical facts. And not to mention the rarities we'll see in both key dates and grades on the CCF.

Whatever you do...please don't do the Barber coinage series...yet. I just put my dime in "lay-a-way", and I need to get some better images than I acquired it from.

I doubt we will see a new Barber thread soon... Elbesaar is doing a fine job keeping the last one going, which started in October 2012!
