Got an USB microscope for Christmas and have been playing with it. This coin seemed pretty interesting....however I have no idea what to look for....a nudge or push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I'm always impressed by the pictures from the USB cameras. They make it look effortless.

Compare yours to VAM-24A. Some diagnostics match such as the clash mark below the lower lip, but I can not tell if the eye is doubled. Good luck!

Thanks Dave you may have nailed it. I'll have to check when I get home.....the eye is the one area of the coin I didn't look all that closely at

Well I can't say that I'm seeing the alligator eye on this one. Here are a couple more pics. One of the eye and one of another reverse clash.

It doesn't appear to be 24A if it's not a doubled eye. It may be 1G then.

VAM-9 is a far date obverse die. I think yours is normal date position (2-1/2 denticles).
