This coin I found is so worn that Hibernia is obscured (well at least the "H" is, I think) and the date is very hard to read. The coin appears struck off center and worn. It is about 26.5 mm & 7.05 grams. Counterfeit? I can not identify this coin with the resources at hand so I turn to the Coin Community Members to help me ID and Date this item (attached are some jpegs).

Well we know it is George III....and can see 177x....so if it is a Regal issue it would have to be either 1775 or 1776. Can you weigh it?

About 7.04 grams & 26.5 mm. The last digit appears to have an arch like a "6" but I have no actuals to compare it to. Any comment welcome.

@ Geoff. They did not make a Hibernia Ha'penny in 1778. Type 3 (long hair) were only produced 1775,1776,1781, and 1782. The OP's coin looks much like a 1776....imo.

I tend to agree, as I have the actual coin under magnification or different angle and light conditions the date appears to be 177partial 6. The type 3 'long hair' was interesting fact as was the recommended webpage on irish coins. Thank You for efforts and interest.
