If it's who people think it is (based on simple ebay searches) then you need to leave him a big red donut for Seller non-performance. If you check his neutral FB you'll probably find where he has done this to at least one other person.

Seller got his minimum bid the first time around, relists with same minimum, so I don't see how it benefits @punman to bid on it again as others have suggested, since he already bought it at that price. ebay is pointless if they allow this to happen, so I would think they take it very seriously. Did you file a complaint?

I have not yet filed a complaint. DBM guessed the seller. He contacted me today and said: It was returned to me the address was incorrect. It cost me $11 to get it back. I refunded your money in full.I responded telling him my correct address, the fact that I have not moved in 20 years and that ebay has the correct address. It was either addressed wrong or not sent. I paid $12 for shipping. I have no tracking info from the post office that it was in transit or delivered or returned to sender. Vendor never contacted me to say item was returned to him until my confrontation with him today. How do I tell ebay Canada about this? Is there a help/complaint ph. number? I have not done ebay feedback to the vendor yet.

His neutral feedback seems to have a similar occurrence from last October. Quote: Your address is incorrect, so I refunded your money

That is Rick Simpson, a CAND Dealer who attends shows in southern Ontario. http://www.cand.org/membership.htmlI would personally give Rick the benefit of the doubt in this case. Yes, Rick is a grumpy old man at times, and he really has never been the same since he got sick several years ago, and his table manners at coin shows can be highly variable. Obviously a mistake was made somewhere, most likely by him, but I doubt it was intentional. If you can prove it was malicious, your best avenue would be to complain to CAND directly. Otherwise, this could probably be resolved via open and friendly communication. Don't be afraid to play the CAND card, if necessary though. As an aside, Rick is the only active person left on CCRS, other than the webmaster....

punman , I suggest you contact the seller again and tell him you want the coin for what you paid..Tell him its the only fair thing to do BUT do not mention anything about feedback .. if he refuses to return the item then HIT HIM HARD

The seller's shipping charge was described as including traceable shipping, and the item couldn't be found entering the mailstream. The earlier sale in October earned this neutral feedback, "How can I rate something I never got. He refunds instead of sending item again." Again? And to an ebay buyer with over 600 feedbacks whose address is suddenly no good? That, plus no contact to verify your address, suggests a bad pattern developing. I'm just saying... -Duncan

Ask for the tracking number to see if it's indicated the "wrong adress".

Nothing you can do except give a negative I guess and tell others to avoid this seller. I've heard of this happening often. Just don't do business with them ever again

Just got a follow up email from the vendor after I supplied my address an hour ago. He says that was the address he used and the item came back to him with an $11 charge to him.
Yes, I am annoyed but it is not worth my time to keep on with this. I am not out any money. 1926 Fars come up for bid every week. Maybe I'll do negative feedback. Maybe I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I know I will not bid on any more of his stuff though.

The way to resolve this is straight forward, and in accordance with the ebay resolution centre. 1. Contact the seller - you've done this and he's replied, which you can provide to ebay. 2. Open a claim with ebay, via the resolution centre for the auction that already closed. 3. Talk to someone at ebay. You will have to hunt around to find the number. You will have to stay on them as deadlines expire. Given the same coin is for sale again, you should be on safe ground to get it. 4. You can leave feedback or not. If the case is resolved in your favour, then feedback is not supposed to be shown for that auction - either way. I found this not to be the case. There is nothing to gain by bidding on the auction again. Unless the seller can provide ebay with the tracking info and all from the first go round, and info related to the item being returned (which still leaves him with a commitment to sell the coin at the original auction price), he has no leg to stand on. ebay will back up the buyer every time in a case like this. Another path, given the person is now known, is to phone him. That often works a lot better than emails.

He should have attempted to resend it to you or ask for instructions from you if he got it back. To resell the same coin and at no point try and contact you was a mistake made by the seller. That is if it was sent. Were you satisfied? Your choice seems clear if he will not resend you (your) coin.
