Claiming coins to be "weak strikes" rather than admitting that they are simply below par.
I've seen hundreds of such descriptions but only 1˝ where it was true (The half is because of a dodgy blank that was much thicker on one side than the other.)

People who don't take the coin out of a 2x2 before taking and posting pics

When I look through a dealer's stuff at a show, ask a few prices and get high end retail. I walk around with a greysheet, so they should get the idea.

Those coin flips that are smaller than the 2x2, I swear coin dealers over the internet send them to me out of spite.

That it seems like at least 95% of the people I've met over the years who collect coins are grumpy old men.

Where are all the single, attractive female coin collectors? I've yet to meet one.

Agreed,I think I have seen a total of 5 at the dozens of coin shows that I have been to in my day and one was attractive.

Ebay. I have to use them, but their programming is done by chickens. Latest peeve is when I click to see larger view and it takes me to a host where the view is the same size. While I'm at it, all the coins in the wrong catagory I have to sort through to get to the ones I want.

Other coin collectors. They keep buying and bidding up the price of the coins that I want.

There are two at my coin club that fit that description, but only one is my age. The other has probably graduated college as I have not seen her in a few years.

Wait, you said single. I wouldn't know one way or another.

The only thing worse than having a coin collecting pet peeve, is not having a coin collecting pet peeve.

Popular articles about coin collecting written by people who know nothing about the hobby. Just the other day I saw one that described the Buffalo nickel as being made out of copper, and then extolled the virtues of the "very collectible" 1963 Kennedy half dollar.

Getting a handful of coins in change, and not finding anything new to add to my collection.

I'm actually surprised that there's not many very attractive looking women at coin collecting. I do know a few gold diggers and here they could do so literally...

Anyway, a pet peeve is coin sellers trying to sell gold plated or silver plated as real gold or real silver. Or even brass as gold and copper-nickel as silver... I might be European, but I'm not stupid. :D

EDIT

Just thought about it. One thing I truly dislike here in Norway is how the philatelists shops also sell coin things (not that there's much choice, as the nearest real coin (more a precious metal also doing coins) shop is 50 km or 30 m from me) but treat it as an 'inferior' hobby compared to theirs.

There are no coin shops in my country at all. If I want to visit a coin shop I have to travel overseas.
