"This passport, which clearly you have not heard of, is recognized by over 150 countries yet issued by none. If it's issued by NONE, it's an imaginative passport, illusion. And all the rest is just theory because it's very well known that every country has the right to deny entry to a foreign citizen as happens everyday.

I really like the native coins I've seen on ebay and the mask. They capture my imagination more than the glass frog. I need a frog to go with my butterfly. I still feel the first 2 coins were the best so far. Man this is a boring April release. I was waiting for all the buzz and discussion like last yr. what a let down, it's like a non event!

Quote: Too many people order sets just to get boxes then cancelling after getting them maybe that is why they switched to cardboard. I always said that they shouldn't allow subscription cancellation, with box and any freebies "yours to keep". This is a non-sense to me, even more that they send sub coins in a flat envelope and further individual coins are shipped with clamshell and sometimes a nice protective cardboard box (ex. O Canada series). No pros of keeping the sub after the box is received (same price, no clamshell, etc.), just cons. First, I think it would be fair to charge a "cancellation fee" (50$-100$ or you return all freebies) and second, non-subscribers shouldn't get more than what subscribers have... this is a non-sense!! Having a cheap cardboard box (even if the design is nice) to display nice 7-coins for total 770$ worth of value just sounds bad.

@ Tipit I would agree with you, it's a shame the coins come without a clamshell when you get a sub. Doing it like that doesn't really make the box a freebie. It's not something you receive extra. It becomes something you get instead of a clamshell. They should just offer the boxes for sale to people who want them. This way they could offer the classy wooden box. I'm thinking of the durability through the years. How long will a cardboard box last before starting to accumulate damage. The beauty boxes are great examples.

agree and support your thoughts, TIPIT and pocket change To have an expencive (and nice) set in not durable and "paper" (cardboard) box has no sense. In addition, the individual coins will be issued with the protective sleeve, that has the same nice image (like on the box). I am planning to take a couple of individuals. Except this, do not imagine them to be hot.

Ok I think I'm lost, as I haven't received my catalog yet. I've seen 3 native coins on ebay. Is this the series referred to? Hopefully the mint will go back to wooden boxes, and hopefully for sale too. They have put out some nice boxes. When a collector invests money into a collection, it's enhanced by a quality presentation. Just look how mr. Bromberg presents sets on the coin show. He uses nice cherry/ mahogany cases to present ordinary nickel sets from the seventies and they pop. I doubt he'd sell any of those sets , if presented in cardboard cases. It just doesn't have the heirloom factor going for it. Lets face it we aren't going to live forever! A nice display helps sell or makes you proud to display it. A cardboard box doesn't have this wow factor going for it.

The RCM is about to reveal (mean April release, today) 2 groups of "native coins": 1. Subscription (available as individuals coins) "The Seven Sacred Teachings" - gilded silver 1oz (bit more) 40mm coins with interesting, but symbolic design. The box that comes with subscription is cardboard box, nicely printed. But individual coins will have the protective sleeve with the same image (I saw it from the RCM catalogue) 2. Group (set) of Nanazhooboo coins (platinum, gold, silver - 5 coins, if I remember correctly), the platinum and gold have 3.000 mintage, but the silver 8.500. I would say the design is interesting (except the platinum and gold - boring) and kitchy....once a while we have first nations depicted on the coins and here it was well done.

@ Silveroid, thanks for the clarification. Last month my catalog came 3 days prior to master club. I ordered 1 gilded and a color silver nanaboohoo coins. I really can't wait to see those in hand. I enjoy the aboriginal themes if done well.

Does anyone know when the release dates are? I thought it was 24th/25th for MC, yet I still don't see any of the new coins. Can any other MCs not see them? Thanks!

I was curious and called the Mint. So unfortunately can confirm "The Glass coin sold out" as per official version of the agents.
The question "to whom it sold out"? I do not believe that it could happen - who needs so many coins?
Now the situation: the rep haven't had allocation but promised, that the coin will be available and asked not to call till final update. Yesterday or today morning, I could easily to get 2, but I hold. So why actually I need the rep, if with him I will get zero, and he asked me not to get without him? My luck in the story - that I do not really need the coin.

Glass frog is still not listed on the master club portion of the website but I got a catalogue with it and the other new coins on Friday or Monday (didn't check my mail on Friday). My rep had me on "a list" for 2 of them but I'm not too sure what that means.

wlouison - I can't see them yet either. I'm MC without a rep, I am just across the MC threshhold and apparently there is a tiered MC system. we still get access before the general public, but not before dealers can snatch up hot new items apparently. oh well.
