Quote: Does anyone know when the second strike submission dates will be when the first strike ends? Couldnt resist I think the TPG's missed out on that one...they could have did the First Strike normally...then the next month "Second Strike" and the next month "Third Strike" You KNOW label collectors would want all three.... awesome! BTW...NGC Early Release cutoff is May 8th

I think you missed the last piece for that Foxwoods... anything submitted after 90 days gets a ball four label... of course that is a limited time offer - wouldn't want people thinking we would just label any HOF coin with a ridiculous meaningless label.

oh, the puns are rolling out! (But the 1st, 2nd, 3rd strike thing actually sounds like it would have worked.)

Quote: BTW...NGC Early Release cutoff is May 8th May 6th for PCGS. Third strike should have been the final batches shipped though Quote: . anything submitted after 90 days gets a ball four label... of course that is a limited time offer Dont forget anything under a MS 68 gets a foul ball. Error coins with "Base" missing will get a Stolen Base. Three First Strikes and youre out, so anyone with more than 3 has to send the rest to me

ok, with the Baltimore graded coins receiving the "Opening Day (NCG) or First Pitch (PGCS)" special labels, what kind of premium do you think they might command over a more normally labeled "Early Release / First Strike"? I suspect we will come to the end of the 2000 or so Baltimore labels soon & although I'm sure they will bubble up for sale here & there, the vast majority of those labels will be gone. (Starting to see non-Baltimore ER/FS on ebay now)

The non baltimore ones should be significantly lower. If we use the ANA RP buffalo labels as a comparison they sell anywhere from about 800 to 2k extra. Little less than a 2:1 ratio. The price of the normal labels for these is hard to pinpoint right now given the popularity. No one seems to want to presell these like they do with most issues and it seems everyone is gun-shy to be the first to price them. A few more population numbers have trickled out in very limited numbers with just over 50% getting 70s. The massive order backlog is the wild card. If quality slips to get orders out the door the 70s could be real expensive, if they can maintain over 50% it should still be pricy but not insane. Then again the massive popularity is seldom seen too so its hard to know for sure what the price will be hence no one wants to pre-sell and be the first to price that. Really the only thing we know for sure is they will be cheaper, the question is by how much. I dont really expect to be able to get any of them in a 70 for less than a couple hundred though and the golds could easily be over 1k.

They set may 6th as the end of first strike. The quarterly special though will. be the end of the special labels for non bulk submissions
Edit: anything you will be shipping after the first strike deadline I believe must be sealed if the mint shipped it before.

PCGS First Strike deadline is 5/6. The box can be opened.
PCGS Q2 Special First Strike deadline is 6/30. The box must be sealed . It is around $50 per coin including shipping. You need to make sure that the box contains the Au coin and not the bag.

Slightly confused: If mint sent me a box of coins on or before 30 Jun, I can send it in for FS label. As long as it is sealed I can send it (postmarked) on or before 30 Jun? If I have an opened box / loose coins I have to send them in (postmarked) on or before 6 May?

Before May 6th you can open the box and inspect them before sending them in. If you dont open a box postmarked before May 6th by the mint you have until June 30th to take advantage of the quarterly special. If you open the box after May 6th you cant get the special label anymore. Unless they are making an exception for the quarterly special (which I dont believe they are) if your coins are postmarked after May 6th from the mint they arent eligible at all.

For some reason I was under the impression that as long as you had a sealed box with a postmark before the cutoff date you could submit them for a FS designation even a year or 2 later?
