Haven't picked it up lately but its weight is about 4-5 lbs. just for the bottle; if I remember correctly. They would come in a wooden open slat crate with a wooden bottom to protect the glass.

Ok, I give up, one more guess. If it is Indeed a 5 Gallon Wino Bucket...... I think it contains 37,654 pennies.
Thats well over 260 pounds of copper. And with copper near 3 bucks a pound.....IF they are all copper.....and you sold it as copper bullion, that would be close to $784.00 in American Bongo Bucks.

Now - I have done this already ~ = $350.00. Give or take $25.
David Bowers once said the average collector only spends 20 minutes/week in numismatics.
Just a thought with this post and the owner of this vessel ... <VVBG>

Good amount! So are you taking them to the bank or saving them for a while? Or maybe throwing them on the 'bay in job lots?

Wow 402.78 gidit was it a 5 gal. bottle cause that is half what I got. I do remember that I constantly picked up the bottle a bit and shook them to pack em. Interesting for sure but I'm happy for you. Now a dilemma for me; do I start from scratch and fill my bottle again to make sure I'm not crazy. Hmmm never was wrapped right but who knows what I may do it is possible I may fill the jug just to make sure I was right.

I'm going to venture 38,463 - how's that for a nice round number? That's a lot of cents!

Well thus far I'm not quite to the half way mark but I'm close. All I can say for sure is that I've put quite a bit of cents in the water bottle. Very curious as to weather or not I will reach the $800 dollar mark cause I still say it will hold that much; if my memory serves me right. Hope me not having a Junior Moment. He He
