Here is one that is over the top that I am dealing with now. mynameisnotjohn A 7 dollar coin and I accidentally put a staple in a ICCS flip which did not touch the coin. Wants a refund and me to pay return postage. I grow weary of dealing with........

This is an old member here that went by the handle jakedacc. If I remember correctly he was removed from the forum because of some made up accusations toward a coin store in Cambridge that were proven via store security footage to have been completely made up.

You can block buyers who:
(1) Don't have a Paypal account
(2) Unpaid item strikes
(3) Buyers to locations where you don't ship
(4) Buyers with policy violation reports
(5) Buyers with a negative feedback score
(6) Buyers who are currently winning or have bought x#of my items in the last xx days and who haven't paid.
(7) Don't allow blocked buyers to contact you

You can apply above settings to active and future listings.

I use some of these as well as the blocked buyers list to help keep me safe. Also, I believe that you can look at bidders and cancel their bid if you think they are shady. I've never done that.

So far, since 2001, I've only been ripped off once. Any other buyers that I've blocked were just non-paying.

Well from the other direction...recently I seen a 1956 proof set on ebay possible cameo set priced 57.95 free ship..i nicely asked the guy for images of the reverses (reverse side of the cello) and he quickly responds with..when I am selling coins at wholesale prices I dont waste my time and energy to provide additional images then insults me for even suggestion I would like to see what I am purchasing and furthermore goes on a tiraid how he hates people like me.. I respond with..i am a collector and collector of cameo and etc... He continued the verbal assault and I just simply said have a nice day.. I wish I had kept the messages still not sure how I upset this gentleman but he was truly unimpressed with my query... And anyone ever see the grey sheet price in a 1956 proof set? Shhessshhhhh lol blows my mind to further my rant.. I do this whole "coin" thing for FUN and ill never understand why someone would try and make this so much...non-fun hahahaha

I appreciate the info here too, but I can see where someone here could try to blacklist some of their competition by claiming to have a lot of trouble with a certain ebay seller. I guess there's no way to know for sure if someone's being honest or not, but hopefully we can continue having mostly great people on this site who are honest and simply enjoying a hobby and not bring greed or dishonesty into the forum.
That being said, I'll take note about this lady mentioned above and say that I too have had to block the user mynameisnotjohn

Yeah, don't you just hate those coin collectors?

Ruining the hobby I tells ya.
