and found 6 silver dimes. The crazy part though was that 4 of the silver dimes were in 1 roll. I also was finally able to find a 1975-D for my clad album. Also I didn't get a box of dimes but simply $250 in rolled dimes. The rolls weren't bank rolled either. Mainly did this as the $250 was going into my savings account anyway so prior to putting it into savings I do a search.

Sounds like interest paid up front!! Common silver dimes or maybe a semi-key surprise?

Nice finds. I like that idea of doing a search with the money before you put it in the bank

6 in 250 is pretty good. my first big find was 6 including a merc in $35 but that was a major (and totally awesome) fluke. The average for me seems to be about 1 per $125-$150. You did well.

Nice find.. I do the same thing weekly but with only $40, its good fun to take out the keepers and dump the rest into bag to go back to different bank with coin machine. I bet you can probably fill most of a few albums with that many.

I noticed those ugly clear shrink-wrap rolls and non bank rolls from local stores so far I lucked out the best with and got a roll with alot silvers in once too... Where I live (town full of mostly retirement communities / over 60 year olds.

I noticed a similar amount of around 1 silver find per every $40-45 on average so far

Most of my silver has come from customer rolls as well. Well the ones from CRH, not from working at a gas station where the majority came from. It seems the best palce to find them, but getting the bank to give you them can sometime be difficult. I tell them I will take whatever they got since I am not picky and it sometimes confuses them. Never found anything like a spare unboxed box worth before. If only you could find that many customer rolled halves.

A good mix of D mints - nice. I was just trying to remember the last time I got silver - definitely in some spare change, but I suspect it was a few years ago. I seem to remember that I got a Mercury dime at a McD's and went back there the next morning and got another. It had me wondering how many silver Merc's got issued out over the course of a day. I can't imagine I got the only two. (no luck on day 3...but I did return like any self-respecting coin collector should!!)

My McD's is more of a McPMD's I get some of the funniest and craziest Post mint damaged coins from mc donalds seams people like to destroy there coin before a burger and a milk shake...

I have searched on average, two thousand dollars in dimes per month, for over six years straight. My average is one silver per $150.

I have found hundreds of silver Canadians, dozens of mercs, and six Barbers.

Congrats on your finds, much better than the average.
