For sure there will be options for the single Eagles purchase. Quote: I think it will go nicely with the four $20 Bald Eagle coins from last year. The new coin is designed by the same artist as last year's coins - Claudio D'Angelo. Why you need it? I am asking, cause last year, I selected this one (with the fish) as single Eagle coin that I want. Now, when became aware about this new coin, I carefully compared them and actually....found them almost the same, but (IMO) the first one better, cause the wingspan of the Eagle appear through all the coin surface, and on the new one the wingspan is smaller, being limited by the lettering. This just a personal though.

Quote: I carefully compared them and actually....found them almost the same I also did a careful comparison of the designs on last year's coins with the designs for the new coins. I'm not interested in purchasing the same basic design again so it seemed prudent. Doing so, I found the designs of last year's "Returning from the Hunt" coin and this year's selectively gold-plated "Perched Bald Eagle" coin design to be nearly the same. So, crossed that one off my list. I'm not a big fan of colourized coins - especially when the color is 2-D and not applied over an engraved design. So, I crossed the new colourized "Soaring Bald Eagle" coin off. I think the recent $100-4-$100 Bald Eagle coin has a similar enough "soaring" design. That left the new coin featuring a Bald Eagle plucking a fish from a lake. It's design was not seen in last year's coins, so it worked for me. I plan to purchase one. Just my personal thoughts on the various designs...

Yes, will agree with this. The one that you mentioned (Eagle hunt the fish oust of the water) is the new. I just feel, that became too many eagles.

The RCM should just be a division of the US mint.

I see there is a difference in shading on the 2014 WW1 Proof single dollar and the one in the new Proof set. Like you said it kind of sucks to have to buy another coin to keep the SD collection complete

@parkay: I must be missing something! I got the impression the new Proof Set includes an example of the SD that is the same as the coin available individually. Proof Set Description of the SDFive finishes! The relief (raised foreground) incorporates the use of five (5) different finishes using a new laser engraving which beautifully accentuate the design. Note the different finishes used on the background, the ground and the top windows on the train, the uniforms of the soldiers and the lower windows on the train, the train, bags and skin of all the people, and the lady's dress and the main soldier's socks.Individual Proof SD DescriptionFive finishes! I think the "new premium finishing techniques" claim refers to the circulation coins included in the set. Where are you seeing there is a difference in the SD? I'm still hoping these isn't!

@Silveroid: In my previous reply, I forgot to answer your question about "Why I needed one of the new coins?" referring to the new Bald Eagle series. So, here goes...
While I collect mostly US and Canadian commemorative coins and medals dating back to the 1800s, I do also collect modern coins that feature Bald Eagles in natural settings.
I'm not trying to collect all releases from around the world, just those with designs that are new/different from those I already own. I have some coins with scenes that are similar, but I do strive for variety.
The new "Eagle Holding a Fish" design is different enough to make the cut for my little topical collection.
Hope that answers your question!

Commems I went to RCM site and brought the PF Silver Dollar up then went to new tab and brought up the new SD set. What I saw different is PF Silver Dollar - lady's coat, mans socks are dark, bags and lady's skirt lighter but still darker than mans coat. SD Proof Set - Lady's dress and bags are dark, lady's coat the same as the other clothing

@parkay: I wouldn't worry about the differences shown in the two photos. The "original" rendered photo for the proof silver dollar is exactly the same as the one now we see for the new proof set. You can also find the "original" rendered photo from the Mint's FTP site. Sometimes, to boost sales, the Mint will update the photo with a more realistic and attractive one (and also add a video), and the one we now see for the proof silver dollar is a new one.

I assumed, that it different, just didn't know, that you also "Eagles" collector. Very nice, enjoy them! That's actually also explains, why you very well familiar with the 2005 Pacific Rim.

Quote: Disappointed to see that the new Bald Eagle coins are only available (at least for now) as part of a three- or five-coin subscription. I'm only interested in the non-bedazzled silver $20 coin depicting an eagle snatching a fish from a lake. I think it will go nicely with the four $20 Bald Eagle coins from last year. The new coin is designed by the same artist as last year's coins - Claudio D'Angelo.
I guess I'll have to explore other options for purchasing the single coin - I'm sure there will be some! @commems: here are the item # for each individual eagle coin, perhaps you could call the Mint and order the individual coin using these numbers? 1/10 oz. Fine Platinum Coin - Bald Eagle 132668 1/10 oz. Pure Gold Coin - Bald Eagle 130527 1 oz. Fine Silver Gold-Plated Coin - Perched Bald Eagle 130526 1 oz. Fine Silver Coin - Soaring Bald Eagle 130525 1 oz. Fine Silver Coin - Bald Eagle With Fish 130524

Quote: hm.. the river rapid coin --> Ships on 10-06-2014 Later it ships and faster it sells = short peak of the prices in the secondary market, for quick resale. I know that people will like it, and it colourful and alive, but imo - just another colored coin NZ Mint style, and same as in the Autumn Bliss the "pixels" will be visible on the paint.
