Hopefully my stereoscope comes in today so I can get better pics but this is all I can do for now... Looks like a possible struck through wire or staple on the top part of the dime as you can see remnants of so that run from the crater through the "O" in OF...Also another small crater but not nearly as deep at the bottom between one dime.. remnants of a staple or wire possibly seen about 10'o clock Could be nothing but wanted to get the best pics of it I could for now in case it is something... Thanks for any input

So much for quality control.
I have one of the Lincoln bicentennial proof sets from 2009, with a nice die crack on the reverse of the "professional" cent.
As far as I know, these errors on proofs carry a premium. Hang onto it.

I don't know what could have caused it, but I noticed some serious quality control issues with the 2014 proof sets. My cent has a large die crack in it and I have a Roosevelt dollar that appears to have been struck through a staples and the staple is still embedded in the coin!

Wow I guess I am not the only one having issues with the 2014 sets... I know there was a possible DDO but has since been written off as quality control issue as well unless I missed something on that thread.. I wish I could get better pics but currently waiting for stereoscope to arrive..It's obvious in hand that it was staple or wire involved in this scenario.. Wish they would bump up their quality control but then again if it will carry a premium Seems like you guys have the same issues mine has but just a different denomination.. I will get better pics up as soon as possible but main question was added value or if to send back for what should have been received in the first place

I've never seen a Roosevelt Dollar. LOL

I would love to add the images of a proof coin with a staple in it to my image library.

coin collecting is one of those few things where production
mistakes may actually end up making the customer
money.

I'm with coop as I also want to see the Roosevelt dime with the staple still in it too..

Well so much for my scope coming in today.. I called to see what the status was as I never received a tracking #... weird right?.. well not weird when the stupid thing still hasn't been shipped... apparently it is backordered and won't be available for about 4 weeks.. so screw it I bought a different one and actually the one I wanted in the first place.. $54 more than the other but ehhhh it's only money AND seeing as how I spend money to collect money I guess it will serve a good purpose but I got the anxious bug to rip through my whole collection looking for things I am sure I missed... anyway end rant... carry on

Really wanna get pics up of the depth of the crater in this dime as well as the detail from the staple that goes up through the O as it's barely shown in the pics I took.. patience is a virtue
