The guy I get my tokens from had this bag of 80+ errors and unusual coins. He claims there is no interest in them and can't sell them so I told him I would try. Problem is they are really interesting and now I want to learn more. I purchased a book about errors but this error/damage has me lost. It looks like it got jammed up in some kind of machinery. Any ideas?

It could be a collar error or an elliptical strike can make a mess out of a coin. There's no way I can tell without seeing the entire coin.

Maybe a pro can.

Meanwhile --- check out error-ref.com.
