Is This Definately Cleaned? It Looks Nice But Almost To Nice

Sometimes you really do get coins that you don't know if were cleaned. Unless it is obviously cleaned, telling if I coin has been cleaned is difficult to do sometimes. Technically soaking Indian heads on distilled water is still cleaning them although most agree this is acceptable like soaking non-copper coins in acetone. Report this Post to the Staff
Teratoma New Member United States 10 Posts	Posted 05/09/2014 5:17 pm The fields on the obverse do seem to have been cleaned at one time. Many of the edges, e.g. the rim and the eagle's outline, have dirt next to them which always makes me suspicious when the fields look pretty clean. On ebay, if the seller says, "Coin may have.... XYZ" I usually take that to mean they know for sure. Report this Post to the Staff
