On other forum there is interesting vision for 2013 Gold Superman.
Page 2769.
Well, any prediction has chance to be true.....but we already heard about $3000 and $5000
And the prices are failing. No, it will hold for some time it value, but the interest will "dry".

2015 Superman gold coin (with the 3.000 mintage) - and series will go "Glass Creatures" path.

That's right, but...locally I see many listings, all C$1200 minimum, and all of them there for weeks, since pre-order. Means - no buyers. Looks like that the coin purchased by resellers, but no wide interest among collectors.

As I said before, even with a mintage of 2,000 there are still 2013 Superman gold coins on flipper hands.

My ebay price after their cut ends up being about the same so I don't expect to sell it there while my local price has been going down as well and is getting close to that minimum

As you can see, the price of the 2014 Gold Superman Coin is much lower then the 2013 at the same point in time. The 2013 was selling for around $2000 compared to the $1200-$1400 price mark for the 2014 coin.

Why?

I believe the hoarders/slippers were able to get much larger numbers of the 2014 coins then the 2013 coin. Remember the success of the 2013 coin caught the surprise of everyone, including flippers. Not this time, as the flippers were prepared this time. Hoarders were able to get multiple 2014 Gold Superman coins as you can see some sellers had 4-5 of them for sale on ebay at the same time.
People were able to order from Multiple MC accounts, from their reps, and from the web too. Despite being limited to one per person, people were able to get around the limitations.
Some people were able to order 2 from their reps. Or one from their rep and one online. The Mint don't seem to bother to check for multiple orders from the same address. Plus you could order as many as you want from SGB before they sold out.
Coupled with lower public demand and excess inventory by hoaders, the price of the 2014 gold coin is not as high as expected.

unexpected success in 2013 also awaken people's interest.
and when they were ready to purchase - other people (like us, dealers, etc...) knew, where and how to buy fast.

And now, I believe, the Superman fans even can not allow additional gold item, hence less care.

I'll call the Mint to cancel it....even not shipped yet.

Folks, I won't speculate about aftermarket prices for Superman gold coins or any other collectibles. It's a "mug's game" and kind of takes the fun out of collecting for me.

By the way, my 1/2 oz silver "Action Comics #1" arrived from the mint this week and it's very cool.

However I'm still waiting for the three other coins in the set.

I don't think anyone else has received their coins yet, so perhaps the mint will let us know that there is a delay with these. Of course, by the time they they do, we'll probably already have our coins.

just called Talisman re my 1014 superman gold order..they havent yet received any superman coins from the RCM! but they will honor my buy at 799 + 30 shipping.....RCM seems an unfathomable mystery of beaurocracy....

as far as the pricing of the 2014 gold goes it would seem highly early to speculate on this coin but my usual answer to this debate is still the same....Superman Brand is a proven winner and over time this coin will steadily increase in price ,,despite fluctuations,, due to its tiny 2000 mintage and growing collector appeal.....its a blue chip coin......with gold at a 2 year low around 1200 usd and the dow at a record high..coins are a good buy right now....if youve got any money left over that is......

Hey NuMoosematist, Just as a heads up we received our Superman golds as well as $15 and $20 silver on Sept.12. We just received the $10 silver yesterday (although just a portion of the amount we ordered). Seems our situation is opposite of your experience. I've come to the conclusion that there is no rhyme or reason to the mints shipping policies.

As a side note if you are a customer of Gatewest and your waiting for your order of Superman coins from us, We have begun shipping the orders in the order of which we received them. As I mentioned earlier in my post we did not receive all our stock yet.

I had ordered few superman, including 2 gold, one from rep and one online, I thought I wouldnt get the online one, but I called in today, rep told me that I will get all of them (received 1 gold only) eventually and that there is packaging delay. He also told me I was lucky to be able to get 2 gold. I guess this is kind of bad for the resale, but I will now most likely lower my price and sell both of them for like $1150 or so, instead of my original price of $1300 for one. This might not be good for the long run, but I ordered these on credit card, and have 30 days to pay it back.

I'm surprised there has been trouble selling the coin. I listed mine locally for 1300 and got an offer the next day at 1250. This was only a day or two ago. I think I'll be adding the other one I purchased to my collection. It wasn't my original intention but hey I got it for issue so why not.
