I'm surprised there has been trouble selling the coin. I listed mine locally for 1300 and got an offer the next day at 1250. This was only a day or two ago. I think I'll be adding the other one I purchased to my collection. It wasn't my original intention but hey I got it for issue so why not.

Yeah, I think you sold it, when the coin was "hot" - just few days.
Now, take a look at local adds:
Full listings for $1200 - $1300, and appeared also $1150 - $1100.

Probably the lowest prices put the sellers who managed to get the coin / coins with discount or for $750 issue.

Listings active, means - no buyers.
People just do not need additional expensive Superman coin.

Not only locally, but prices on ebay has collapsed as well.

Some have sold for as little as $1150 and $1181.

Clearly, it is the flippers and hoarders who grabbed most of them. They are getting rid of them soon as possible. Remember 3 weeks in, the 2013 gold coin was in the $2000 range. In the same period of time the new coin is averaging $1300.

Ah, you guys need to believe in the value of the coin or be willing to keep it. #1 rule is to only buy things one is willing to keep.

I'm amazed by the importance given to the resale value of the Superman coins.
Lame and pathetic are the only words that comes to my mind.

You liked the coin when it was worth 800$, you loved it more when it was worth 1300$ and now, you spit on it because it's only worth 1100$ ?

Does anyone thinks we are gonna cry because you are not making a ton of profit doing nothing and being a bunch of freakin parasites ?!?

I like the acrylic case they used for last years set of coins, I find it truly makes those set of coins unique. I question the thought process in coming up with this years set of coins. I'm not talking about the actual images used but it was an obvious cash grab that worked, these are the same type of boxes that come with the 100 for 100 coins and I find them a little cheap.

I hope they don't start making these cardboard things regular issue, I notice they used it for some of my 25 cent coins which I can forgive because it's only 29.99, but when paying a large premium I'd like more then just cardboard.

Well, Jumpy was correct in something in his post.
But the reason that he wrote it - probably, cause he didn't get the coin. So I understand him. Sometimes I think and write the same.

Now funny:
if not CC limit, I could order 1 Gold coin from each source, cause I sat and watched the listings appears on the dealers sites, but I didn't do it.
I still like to experiment, so ordered one. And I do not need it.
Price still dropping down for this coin, I got a call that the coin ready to be shipped. Exactly that moment, on the call I canceled it :)

So my $850 returned back and someone got the coin (do not think, that for issue).

Ya most of the hype was from resellers who bought up as many of the 2nd superman gold coin as they could but now finding out that other resellers dont want to buy their over hyped coins ...shrug ...I see a bit of irony in all of this.

This is interesting.
let's say not only over hyped, but overpriced too. Initially it sells for price, that turned collectors off.

The Coin Shoppe has again "In stock" for $1255
And the local adds down rocketing: available for $900 - $1000

I don't mind holding on to mine for awhile, even raised my local price a bit and will do so again over the next couple of weeks until I reach my expected profit price or it sells. Turned down $1100 yesterday.

When I read Silveroid post I was shocked someone would sell the coin for 900 I went to look because that's a price I'd be more then comfortable with paying as of right now. I'm not sure if he edited the post but there is some fine print in his listing.

"Asking for it $900 cash and $200 silver coin RCM"

Not sure if he means $200 in value or the new $200 coin. But if you have some RCM coins you've been meaning to get rid of it's a good deal.

@silveroid also if you were going to return your superman gold coin I'm sure a other fellow CCer who missed out on the release would've been more then happy to take it off your hands and probably would've gave you extra for your trouble.
