I don't think, that RCM has a commitment to commemorate the events / flora / fauna / art related to Canada only. Yes, the Mint have done it so far, but following the profits, it could be change.

It's important to remember each coin design is approved by parliament, so I doubt the mandate will change. The RCM is not the New Zealand mint, even though the RCM pumps out insane amounts of coins! I hope they don't do yearly Superman coins, in my opinion it would really cheapen this 2 releases.

Firstly, try as you may...there does not appear to be ANY Canadian connection to Batman as many have already acknowledged but we do have bats in Canada so perhaps the powers that be at the Mint could find some loophole and make the link... And if that happens then we will witness a heck of buying frenzy for the Dark Knight...no doubt...and there won't be a second of a hesitation as we saw with superman 2013... Secondly...I don't see why the Mint would stop with superman 2014... They sampled the demand with 2014 by issuing just four...versus the multiple numbers from 2013...which included lenticular and better packaging... Why not even more for 2015? Will there be a demand year after year? UNQUENCHABLE!

on mints point of view, these coins are a big hit, and secondary market does not matter to them, yes these coins are good, and I like the designs, but 2014 is SECOND superman release, and in the long run, no one remembers seconds, what I think is that the 2013 ones will stay popular and probably increase steadily, but 2014 dont think so, first of all for sure the 2014 gold will never get close to the 2013 one. As yearly release goes on, only FIRST will have value in it, EXAMPLES: lady bug venetian glass, $20for$20 maple leaf,

I managed to get a 2014 Superman gold coin and it showed up today. I normally don't sell the coins I get but in this case I'm going to. It does look very nice but I would rather continue trying to complete my Dollar set. If anyone is interested in trading or buying I would be happy to hear from you :-) COA #1471 And it comes with a FREE plastic bag LOL

COA #1471 is actually : 1+4+71 = 76. Simple and elegant. Unique COA. Wow, the bag.....why did I return this coin!

Thanks to the Prof's from the other forum, posting the graph of the 2014 Gold Superman.
Like many people predicted: the initial hype is over. Collectors and Superman fans just not interested in the second coin, as they interested in the first (which was a novelty). So, I believe , the final price that this coin will be traded - bit above the issue, let's say $850.....
In addition, some people , like me might be will prefer to cancel/return coin to the Mint - which sense to keep an expensive, but not hot item?

Thanks to the other forum: The Silvertowne has all 3 Superman coins, not for much higher that the issue price. What is this: no demand for RCM Superman series, or the end of the NCLT is here? From other side, Perth Mint continues to issue limited mintage coins that sells ~$400 - ~$500 on the secondary market.

These silver coins are not that low in mintage to begin with. If you look at ebay, it still above retail price. Keep in mind that these dealers purchase with a dealer price so they are still coming up ahead with selling slightly above retail price

I received my $20 superman coin yesterday. It's my favorite design followed by the $10. The vivid colors and motion really appeal to me. It was from RCM and sellers are asking and getting $159 on ebay. It's both a good & bad thing when coins sell above issue. It tempts me to sell and find a bargain later. However, when sales are flat or under issue the thought of coin value never bothers me. It becomes another member in the collection.

Quote: It tempts me to sell and find a bargain later. For me this aspect is very questionable. I actually do not have a clear position about it, but here my thought: If I bought, lets say same Superman coin for its design, and suddenly it rises in price - I'll be glad to know this, that I have something valuable (money wise), so I would sell it if only: i do not like it anymore i need a money If I'll sell it just because of raising in price, and later will search for bargain - why I need it at all? We have many nice coins reduced, why to chase for something old (NCLT I mean). So thats my point, except specially desired items, that I can not afford them right now, do not turn back to the past releases. Yes, I have some short list to complete, but not looking for "sale", just for personal free funds accumulation.
