OOOPS! the first link in my post of the Huguenot Bank check doesn't work (copied wrong link), my apologies. And it is also mis-labeled. I'll try to find it again. ==== Bad Link Do Not Use== Bank Picture and Banknote file:///C:/Users/Owner/Documents/Ne...20Books.html====

Here's a couple of checks from a railroad; and the bank itself has quite a history. == == the W.H. Another more colorful check from the Muegee Drug Company dated 3 years earlier than my earlier post. Interesting to note he was a member of Woodmen of the World or perhaps his company was a corporate member. == == History link for a Muegee collectible: http://www.bergsengs.com/Muegge-OR.html

Found this lying about on the Bay; a really great picture in time of American industrial prowess. Decided it needed a new home. And have included history link for Mr. Douglas. == == == History link for Mr. Douglas http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~m...Douglas.html==

Found this super check lying about on ebay. Never seen one with such great vignettes; and the French Legion of Honor is a first for me. == == == == The government of France named Cyrus McCormick an Officier de la Legion d'honneur in 1851. == The medal pictured is French Third Republic ==

Interesting. Is the bank name on the window in the vignette? Perhaps the early bank was destroyed by fire or they moved?

techwriter, you sure have some interesting checks. I don't normally collect checks, but finding Idaho depression scrip seems to be next to impossible, so, I found this nice looking Wallace National bank check example.
