I think in this case, since the coins are not stamped as copies, you are taking a big risk, even if just to buy them for your own enjoyment. They are counterfeit currency.

It's much easier/faster to just report them to ebay.
Rest in Peace

He doesn't mention the coa from the mint, but he does have 'the case' just not the cardboard box - is the way I read it. If you judged my collection by which coins I don't have the 'box' for... 1/2 of it would be fake.

I too have two of these bumblebee coins.. so it's not unbelievable that they aren't real - to me. If I was faking them, I'd have 50 of them up there... and probably a buy it now price of list or below, get in and out quick.

At this point, and with the information provided... I would hesitate to list as 'fake' at this point.

edit:
then again... his completed listings show a number of others... most of which sold well below list... so I stand corrected.

Feel sorry for bidders, actually for their clueless.

Doesn't it look like authentic fake of fakes? Why they bid on this ... $5 -$10 max for the "Fakes collection"

umm I can tell within 1 second this is fake...........it has a picture of a glass bee........and yes I reported it before even posting this. But that doesn't always work in time. That's why I'm tempted to bid on it on a fake account.

IDK I have never lost a case.....I have a big box with all my cases and COA's in them.....but never lost a case.......this guy is a straight scammer if you ask me

It has the "official" coin description at the top and says its pure silver...........

This is why I photograph everything that's supposed to be included, unless otherwise stated. Leave no questions to be asked.

Total fake indeed. I'd report it to the Canadian Anti-fraud centre (https://www.antifraudcentre-centrea...tfraud.html)

My experience with software pirates is that they became the most fanatic anti-pirates when they started creating software.

My prediction is that in time, when the Chinese are creating valuable IP of their own, they will suddenly become obsessed with the proper protection of IP around the world.

I've recently had to thoroughly study the Canada Currency Act in prep for a court case, but could use more feedback, or references to related literature. I am not a lawyer.

Authentic Superman coins are current legal tender, and thus counterfitting is much more serious, though I don't know what agency would take an interest in Canada. In the states it would be the us secret service. As a result ebay has vowed more vigillence in shutting down such auctions.

Are there any court cases or legal opinion that you know of regarding the classification of RCM coins as currency/legal tender, or simply as "goods"?

Hi everyone,

I've seen tons of these replica superman coins for sale on ebay. I actually own the original ones, bought from the RCM and I want to buy a fake set just to compare them to the originals.

Is it legal to buy them?

P.S. technically all the sellers on ebay that I've seen don't claim them to be real but "replicas" and "plated". However, they do have a " CANADA 20$ Dollars, 10$ Dollars..." etc engraved on them so does that make them counterfeit?

My main concern is it legal for me to buy them? I dont want to get in trouble!
