I merged your post into an existing topic. I need to look back to see how many (if any) large hole examples have been posted before.

Quote: I merged your post into an existing topic. Aww... and I thought I was being original! I even glanced through all the past "Post Your" topics and didn't see this one. That's what I get for not looking closely enough...

In your defense, it had been dormant for over six months! I had to search for it myself, with only the fleeting memory if its existence to support my effort.

I read through this entire thread, and my circulation coins would be duplicates of those posted by others. OP posted a few holey tokens at the beginning (in 2014!) but there have not been many since then. Here are a few of mine: Louisiana tax tokens ( see http://goccf.com/t/430805&whichpage=2#3723311 for my discussion of these. West Virginia coal scrip tokens. I do not know the significance of the number holes, and I do not have a copy of Edkins' book on these. San Francisco: Barrel House rummy check
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Alas, I find that my poor little Pice is an exact duplicate of one on page 10, and just a year removed from Pices on pages 5, 19, 26 & 46. I was even less original than I thought! To be fair, though, there are a lot of duplicates in this topic. However, the previous post has given me an idea. I'll get back to you all on this...

1936 One-Tenth-of-a-Penny from British West Africa (posted in the Edward VIII thread).Apparently these coins were frequently used as washers, as it was cheaper to use a tenth-of-a-penny coin than to buy a washer!

OK, here we go. I may have one or two other "holey" foreign coins that haven't already shown up here, but for interesting hole shapes it's hard to beat these tokens: (1) Capital Transit Co., Washington, DC - 1 fare (1943). (2) Motor Transit Company, Jacksonville, FL (date unknown, but probably of similar vintage).
