If that's 'AU' I can pretty much upgrade my entire Indian collection without changing out a single coin.

Maybe Centsles has got himself a part time job at NGC.

Poor strike or LDS could be a factor especially given that no diamonds appear at all. But the ribbon should still be separated. I personally would not buy this beyond a net VF20 or 25, which would take the striking characteristics into consideration. The coin sold for $33- ouch...

I wouldn't rule out a labeling error at the TPG. In fact, I've almost convinced myself this is the case. Now why anyone would submit this coin in the first place I can't understand.

It even looks lightly cleaned to me! NGC has been known to look the other way on coins cleaned long ago, to make the customer feel satisfaction with his submissions.

It is beyond me that this piece of junk got AU-58, I would agree that any points VF-25 through XF-40 would be fair.

Low EF - high VF. Everyone has a bad day. That's one of the reasons so many coins have their slabs cracked and sent back trying to garner a better grade than last time.
