Ant, how do you end up with a $11k+ graded coin, rare and in fantastic condition and not realize it? Maybe I need to go back through my collection and take a look!

Ant your Trade dollar sold for $9,400 back on January 9, 2014

For such a high dollar coin, I would think you'd need to find the right buyer with semi-deep pockets.

To the OP that's a pretty cool find. I have an 1876 Trade dollar but haven't looked at it in awhile...I'm about 99.9% sure mine will be a common pairing.

I believe Ant inherited a collection from his Grampa but I'm not a hundred percent sure on that. He has some good stuff.

The proof 1883 that was posted that sold in January of this year, was submitted for regrading (it is in a different style slab in the two pictures, here and auction) and somehow got to Ant76 without knowing what it is worth within that timeframe? Something doesn't sniff right here.

I must also state that Ant76 states in a previous posting that he acquired this collection in 2010....this does not add up whatsoever.

It doesn't but at the same time he did prove he has coins by putting his username in the picture. What previous posting was the 2010 remark?

Ill post a bunch of other proofs in a new thread in identification. Please review and tell me where they came from. I have a paper trail for 2 of them. I only will be able to tell you where they originated, but nothing else

It's alright Ant, I saw the proof in some other topic but I do have to say that is quite a collection you have. And I along with others would enjoy pics of more of the coins as you don't see these kinds everyday.
