I got this off ebay because it looked pretty interesting, I don't have it in hand to weigh or anything. Any Comments, Suggestions, Info, Feedback or Corrections extremely welcome... I assume the following was correct but if not please chime in. It was listed as a 198- (copper) Lincoln Cent with 3 errors that seem to all tie together ~ - Indent strike - High finned rim from indent strike - Struck through wire through indent & up finned rim. Dang, that's a nice coin! Is it bad etiquette to ask what it cost you?

The area on the reverse opposite the indent bothers me. I think this is just an indent with secondary damage.

Can you post a closer picture of the REV designers initials?
It 'Looks' like it could be either a 1980, '86, '88. I'm thinking '88.
The initials could narrow it down though.
Have you scaled it yet?

Since he said in the first post that it was copper that'd eliminate any date after 1983. Only 1980, 1981 and some 1982 cents are copper.

It's an in-collar indent with a struck-through error. Constrained by the collar, the coin metal had no option but to squeeze upward. There's a bit of horizontal lipping at the highest point of the vertical flange, which is also typical. There is damage to the flange on the obverse and damage to the reverse design rim opposite the flange.
Error coin writer and researcher.
