It is MD....however, I'm not even sure what you are comparing it to...the 1956-D 007 is a doubled eyelid.

Keep looking AMB, they are out there. When you finally do find your first true doubled die, the difference between MD and DD will become very clear. It was like a light bulb switching on last year when it happened to me.

No! I told myself "no buying" it is just a hobby. I have a hoard of coins to go through. ...maybe a trade? Lol. Honestly it's the desperation to find one that keeps me going. 😊

Usually when the profile is doubled as well as the outer devices, it is MD

This one had me waxing and waning...the 1 was what lead me to post the post. It's not as much the shelf as other MDD's I have found. This 1 looked like someone had taken an blade right down the edge and separated it. The T &Y actually begin just like that at the base but layer under as you move upward. Had me guessing. Anyway, I'll keep looking, you guys keep helping. Thx.

Here is a different view of the Y...what a great example compared to coop's diagram of the die strike creating the machined error: Here is the "1"...this fooled me cause it's like a CUT vs a layer and is where my questioning began...thought I had it 😊.
