Quote: I'd remark that within this subtype (1912 thriough 1920) the 1914 is the toughest to find in any sort of higher grade. That's neat, I didn't know that! Thanks for the info Lucky Cuss! I've posted this 1914 Barber Half in a previous thread but I think it also fits here:

Quote: Dorado - Your specimen seems to have a tremendous degree of detail extant, but its hue and surfaces both seem a bit, well, off. Does it in hand really look that "gold" or is that merely an artifact of the photography? The coin has been cleaned 10 years ago. What fascinates me, are the details of the coins. I like to experiment with them. I've been doing this for 20 years. Soon I will begin to see the results. Look at this one from 1914 ( at the right side) it was cleaned 15 years ago.

I put together this set. US coins of 1914, all Phila except the Half had to be a San Francisco. The light effect (prism) on the plastic makes the coins look oily but they are OK.

Belgian Franc 1914 Legend in Dutch. The majority language first appeared on a few coins issued under Leopold II. Under King Albert, about half of the issues had a legend in Dutch.

jbuck: Quote: I detect some wood grain. I detect copper, dirt, a date, a mintmark and a little detail. It is an ANACS graded coin from the early 80's. It goes G4/AG3 If I submitted it today, I might get a solid G4 out of it. I might sell this to get a nice Commemorative I guess. It's not doing much for me.
