But if you advertise 350 sets worldwide, how cannot the RCM control the issuance, they produced them, no difference in announcing 2000 mintage of gold superman and having 2200 for sale on the shopping network. Hope the number of sets on TSC is wrong.

The coin have serialized COA's so it's a different history. And it's not that RCM can't control the issuance, the question is if the RCM is interested in controlling or just in the $$$$ .

The main point is if the TSC numbers are correct, the RCM is using false advertisement, no matter how you look at it.

The Mint advertised 350 subscriptions.

Quote:
If the shopping channel truly has 425 subscriptions available, the Mint has some serious explaining to do given that they said 350 total subs.

But how do you know, guys, about amount of available subscriptions through the Shopping Channel?
Was it advertised as 425?

I find this topic in some form or another comes up fairly often. Quite often the math does not seem to work out based on the limited information that RCM provides to customers. RCM is a Canadian goverment organization and is bound by the acess to information laws.
Info below is from the mints web site.
Access to Information requests may be submitted by using the Access to Information Request Form. Each request must be accompanied by a $5.00 application fee in the form of a cheque or money order made payable to the Royal Canadian Mint.

Requests for information held by the Mint should be addressed to:
Access to Information and Privacy Coordinator
Royal Canadian Mint
320 Sussex Drive
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0G8

I'd suggest that the group carefully formulate a question or two with regards to this topic and send it in.
Just a thought.

I waited for this "test", Arianzo.

But have to say:
Seems that no one added the 425 units and tried to Submit the order. Might be, there is a limit set (as 350), and only upon submission, the buyer will notified that the maximum amount is 350.
Or even will be possible to submit the order with 425 subs,but later the email will come with cancellation.

We can not "compare" our "HTML test" with the real situation. Correct?

Would say more:
the websites, knowing the customer's habit to validate "in-stock" amount, might artificially manipulate the info, by playing with this value.

@Silveroid

I did add the 425 subs in my cart (trying to add one more make the popup soldout appear).
I tried the same with the Superman one just after and the popup appeared at 25... tried it again right now and appears at 13.

So it could still be an error (the guy entered 450 instead of 45).... but....

@TIPIT:

yes, this check is valid, you right.
But still you didn't submit this order.
You know, their maximal value could be any, but only after submitting, you might get more correct limitation of the amount.
(again, it just the assumption, but it could be true).

Who has the credit card limit to submit 425 orders? I don't have, that's the only reason I didn't do it just to try ...

In any way I do not encourage to try...just saying, that the test of "adding items to cart" not always exact.

I am curious how they will do the obverse on the 2 dollar coin. I am hoping that they keep the ring on that side as well and preferably gold plate the whole center core. That would be my choice over keeping the same obverse for all the coins. I guess we have to wait until July 2015 to find out. Any educated guesses?

Just ordered the subscription from Coin and Currency under the installment option. No mention at checkout of the free proof set. Seems odd. I suppose this set will magically show up at my door one day.

After reading all the confusion about mintage numbers, and number of boxes sold, etc., I'm glad I did not order this subscription. For the price, I'd rather have the 150+ oz of silver.
